Discontent in Marin, and Chiropractic

"Discontent is the first necessity of progress."  - Thomas Edison

A large part of the health problems in Marin is excessive, unrealistic happiness... misplaced content.

You want progress... better health? You won't even seek it if you think everything is OK, or, as good as it's going to get.

If you are trusting enough to believe whatever the common medical mythology is, you will not be discontented. You will have no progress.

Two kinds of misplaced content:

  1. The blame's on you: "You're old. What do you expect." "You're a woman. It's your hormones." "You're child will grow out of it." "It's in your family."
  2. The blame is upon the ENTITY... your diagnosis: "There's nothing anyone can do about high blood pressure/diabetes/neurodegenerative diseases/arthritis/chronic depression/irritable bowel syndrome, etc. You'll just have to learn to live with it. You'll have to take these pills... forever. You'll just have to expect this thing to get worse over time."
Then, there is the Marin thing of doing many good things... yoga, meditation, Pilates, regular exercise, eating well... and being content from that. What if there is more, like a better-functioning nervous system.

Get discontented. Then, and only then, will you look beyond the limitations of common (modern?) Medicine.

Smart enough to be discontented? You need Wellness Chiropractic.

Smart enough to already be under wellness chiropractic care? Well, HOW MANY PEOPLE DO YOU KNOW who should be DISCONTENTED? Do what you can to let them know why and how they should be discontented, and how they will be outrageously content by getting adjusted, and... for the first time... allowing their own Innate Intelligence to do what it is intended to do.

Die for your Diagnosis?

"Some people would rather die, diagnosed, than get well, undiagnosed."  Fred Barge, D.C.

What does this mean?

Amongst people who are seriously and chronically ill, who don't fit in the usual, neat medical categories, they tend to get lost in tests. An unending series of tests, from one specialist to the other. When I offer my help, they often respond, "I just have to know what's going on." really?

In Chiropractic, we do not diagnose, nor do we treat. We look to the cause, Vertebral Subluxation, and correct that cause, allowing the body to heal itself. The body, unhindered, will diagnose and treat.

A body with a freer nervous system will tend to be healthier. Simple. Without diagnosis.

Who is the smartest, even in Marin?

How people think about health here in Marin, it's kind of schkitzy. Many profess to be into "alternatives," and thatv they "know" their body. Really? Tell me, how's the tubules in your left kidney doing just about now? How's the exocrine portion of your pancreas? Huh?

Then, for most of these "alternative" folks, at the first sign of real disease, they head right to the "R.D.," the "real doctor." They then think that the R.D., the M.D. really KNOWS. Feh!

Now, I am not saying that I, as a chiropractor, KNOW either. The difference is that I know what I don't know. Your Innate Intelligence KNOWS.

Food for thought, from Dr. Max Delbruck, a biophysicist:

"Any living cell carries with it the experience of a billion years of experimentation by its ancestors."

State of the Union: Marin: You

It's "State of the Union" time in Washington. Here, too, in Marin.

What about the biological state of the union... yours?

Union? What does that really mean? It means parts, be they states, or organs or systems, working together.
A good union, biologically, means good health.

Health is defined by Dorland's Medical Dictionary as "a state of optimum physical, mental and social wellbeing, not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." Webster's says that health is "a condition of wholeness, in which all of the organs are functioning at 100%, all of the time."

As far as "union," I propose that you consider health to be a situation in which all of the parts are working for the good of the whole, and vice versa. Think on that.

In this absurdly allopathic ("against disease"... medical) society, every part is considered separately. Diseases are considered isolated incidents against a particular part or system, attacking that part or system from the outside-in. This might seem all very scientific, but it is biologically absurd.

Chiropractic understands your biological state of the union. When there is a loss of union... control, coordination by the master system,. the nervous system.... there is a loss of health. This leads to dis-ease, and, eventually, to disease. The cause of this "loss of union" is vertebral subluxation. Chiropractic is the ONLY profession that addresses vertebral subluxation, allowing "a more perfect union."

Can Marin Politics Hurt Marin's Health?

Before you get ready to get all upset, and viciously (can we still say that?) defend your political views, RELAX. I am writing on real-life health care realities. Not some ephemeral, wished-for ideological fantasy. Realities.

I fully understand that those of you who are reading this are likely fiercely independent in your personal decisions, including your health care decisions. Otherwise, you'd be one of the medical sheep out there, perhaps articifially chilling out on your Celexa or Prozac, or zoning out on your Ambien.

Since you like to make your own decisions, why hand that power to faceless bureaurocrats?

Getting into that massive thing called ObamaCare, take a look at Section 1311. It takes away, pretty damn directly, clinical authority from doctors. (I can assume chiropractors, accupuncturists, podiatrists, dentists, etc., also.) The decision to take a particular clinical action for you as a patient, or not, will be in, basically, a giant medical cookbook, full of flowcharts.

Don't believe it? I can tell you, way back in my lost years dealing with insurance companies, "cookbook" is the Way, in as cheap a way as possible. You think government is different? It's still somebody else paying, and, as the old saying goes, "Whoever pays the piper call the tune."

As confused as many of my chiropractic colleagues are, thinking that they are some sort of medical appendage, government control would complete their medicalization. Maybe they might be put to work swabbing the floors in the hospital. And you think that anything resembling actual Chiropractic would be covered?

Me? If it gets that far, you'll have to look for me in the hills, somewhere.

I believe in liberty, including the right to choose your health care.

Is Marin really "wholistic?"

As an intellectual, quasi-spiritual hobby, many inhabitants of Marin County view themselves as wholistic.

Are they, really? Or do they just advocate natural/organic-feeling things that seem wholistic? Is there more schtick than substance?

The ultimate "wholistic" is the vitalistic philosophy of Chiropractic, which medical cultists may deride as dogmatic.

B.J. Palmer, D.C., Ph.C., known as the "Developer of Chiropractic" (son of the founder, Dr. D.D. Palmer), wrote:
"Why even cabbages grow from within, outward, and yet many cannot understand the fundamentals of Chiropractic."

These days, very sadly, that includes a lot of chiropractors.

MMPD: Marin Mercury Perceptual Disorder

Today's from page of the Marin Independent Journal ad an article about this little environmental group based in Forest Knolls that "went undercover" to test fish sold in Marin for mercury levels. (Undercover? Were the fish armed? No, only finned.)

The absurdity of this obsession, coupled with the anti-obsession with mercury in vaccines, the real health hazard, propelled me to send the following op editorial to the Marin IJ.

Here ya go:

As the Mercedes ad campaign, from a few years ago, went, “Perception is not always reality.” When common misperception causes people to make foolish health decisions, this can be a public health disaster.

The article, and the outcries that will follow, of the Marin-based group, GotMercury.org, brings forth the unthinking prejudice of people who are so quick to blame every disease on alleged environmental problems. Does there exist areas of environmental contamination that may lead to adverse health consequences? Of course. But contrary to “what is good” for environmental organizations, the environment is far cleaner now than it has been in decades. Factories are no longer dumping raw chemicals into rivers and lake, nor are they belching unlimited toxic gases from their smokestacks. The gas we put in our cars has been unleaded now for decades.

Poisoning by mercury? The most dangerous source is from that “most trusted” source, your medical doctor. GotMercury.org specifically warns children and pregnant women about mercury ingestion. Do they think… do you think… that mercury is OK if your doctor says so? They are worried about one part mercury per million in fish, which must go through processes of the digestive system. How many parts per million does a child get when he or she is taken to the pediatrician for three to five vaccinations at a time, injected directly into their little bodies? The average child now gets 71 vaccinations by kindergarten. And what about pregnant moms, that are urged to get flu shots every year, and now pertussis (whooping cough) shots? How much mercury do those developing babies get, through maternal circulation? To what ill effects?

Consider that, in the vaccines, besides the mercury and questionable biological content, there are numerous other toxins, including aluminum, formaldehyde, anti-freeze (phenoxyethanlol), latex, MSG, and beta-propriolactone. When asked about the skyrocketing rates of autism, Type I diabetes, juvenile arthritis, learning disabilities, and asthma, the “medical experts” will cite either the environment or some genetic factors. Has the human genome changed, radically in the last two generations? No. This is ridiculous.

Environmental cause? Fish? Look to the internal environmental catastrophe of mass serial vaccination. You’ve seen those fish-warning posters in restaurants? How about vaccine warning posters in pediatricians’ offices? How can M.D.’s poison you to health?

Yes, perception of health matters, even in allegedly wholistic-thinking Marin, is dysfunctional. Time to re-think health dangers, and solutions. Solutions should include your personal advancement of health, which should include proper nutrition, regular exercise, proper rest, good attitude, and a nervous system without interference.

Hope: Where none existed

I just did a particularly wonderful progressive exam. (In this practice, I actually re-examine people every 12 visits, so that I can monitor, objectively/scientifically, how they are progressing. I know that I've heard people complain about their previous chiropractors, "He just kept adjusting the same thing, over and over. I never got checked after that first time.")

In this allopathic (medical) culture, so many people are told to "learn to live with it." (In some countries, people are told when to die.) This is NOT the limitation of a particular person, nor the limitation of a particular condition or disease. It is the limitation of Medicine.

Yes, I know that the common perception of Medicine is all-knowing, all-seeing, the embodiment of Science and Knowledge. "If They don't have the cure now, it's just around the corner." What a bunch of you-know-what!

With chiropractic care, there are possibilities that do not exist in the "normal" medical world. You can call chiropractors "quacks" if you choose, but why do they succeed where there is no hope elsewhere? Could it be that Chiropractic is in tune with biological law, whereas medicine is not?

Marin Luther King Day: Chiropractic, Racism Tolerance

Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke of judging people "not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." I propose that we consider judging a doctor, or a whole health care system, by results and by risk/benefit ratio, rather than by "the color" of their professional designation or their general societal acceptance, or lack thereof.

Is lack of reason involved, to the point of hatred? You betcha! Just look at the recent vicious attacks upon myself and Chiropractic in the pages of the Pacific Sun. Some people are afraid to come here, to get well, because of the hatred that their spouse has for Chiropractic. I've seen the blind hatred in the court system, in which judges automatically consider whatever a chiropractor does to be nonsense, if not out-and-out sleazy.

In the old days, before the licensure of Chiropractic, many chiropractors did time in jail for "practicing medicine without a license." No basis in law or reason. This was blind, racist-like hatred. Before Chiropractic became legal here in California in 1922 (by the initiative process, NOT the legislature), more chiropractors were jailed here than anywhere else. In my native New York, Chiropractic only became legal in 1965. Many of my older professors did time in jail. Jus so you really know how this fits exactly into the racism thing, country clubs in New York had signs, "No N[word], Jews or chiropractors." I would have been a two-time loser! Oh, well. I don't play golf, anyway.

Even these days, here in mellow Marin, what some people say to me, or to my wife about me (maybe to you when you bring up Chiropractic, trying to help people), is despicable. I am here to help people. I am here to change lives and save lives.

To those who "don't believe in you chiropractors," who really hate chiropractors and Chiropractic, THINK! Get some tolerance. Let reason enter the "health care" part of your brain. Go to my website. Read, think, and act accordingly. Tolerance may save your life someday.

Ethics and Chiropractic

I know that many people are mistrusting of chiropractors. Considering many of the cockamamie things that some chiropractors offer, and try to pass off as Chiropractic, this mistrust is understandable.

I was just reading on the nedt about an East Bay chiropractor being investigated for selling to other chiropractors those "disk decompression tables," the one where they claim 86% result for herniated disks. Frankly, I find chiropractors who hawk this kind of gimmick usually lack adequate adjusting skills, and always lack knowledge and understanding of the Principle of Chiropractic, and the proper intent of Chiropractic.

Real... straight... chiropractors, do not treat herniated disks, nor back pain, in general. Nor do we treat any diseases. We don't treat anything. (Diagnosis and treatment is the definition of Medicine. Chiropractic is NOT part of Medicine.) Straight chiropractors correct interference to the expression of health, Vertebral Subluxation, so that your body is free to heal itself. That's it.

Have people come to me, and gotten well, with herniated/slipped/ruptured/degenerated disks? All the time. Have I "cheated the surgeon?" More times than I can count. But not once did I treat the disk problem. I corrected the cause, liek the name of this blog.

Real... straight chiropractors do not need gimmicks like disk decompression tables. We appreciate the fact that the Power that made the body heals the body. Why add gimmicks?

For more on Ethics and Chiropractic, take a read on my website.

Chiropractors who are Wrong

So many people think that Chiropractic is about back pain. Wrong! But this is NOT your fault. This is the fault of so many chiropractors who have lost their way.

The purpose of Chiropractic is the detection, analysis and correction of Vertebral Subluxation (VS). VS is when vertebrae are out of normal anatomical/physiological juxtaposition, thereby interfering with the functioning of the brain and the nervous system. Is that a big deal? You betcha! Why? Your brain and your nervous system runs every system, every organ, every tissue, every cell in the body. When there is subluxation, that running, that control and coordination, is out of control. Health is harmony within. Subluxation interferes with health. Gentle, specific scientific chiropractic adjustments correct VS, allowing the body to heal itself, function at a higher level, and even begin to perfect itself.

If you have been to a chiropractor who merely "treated" your back pain, even if you were satisfied, you were not offered the full benefit, or even half the benefit, of real (straight) Chiropractic.

Demand nothing less than the real thing, for you, and your whole family, and for everyone you know.

War upon Your Children

A couple of days ago, the midstream media, in conjunction with the PMG (Pharmaceutical-Medical-Governmental) Complex, attacked Dr. Andrew Wakefield. Some years ago, he published a paper in the British Medical Journal linking vaccination with autism. He is a distinguished, experienced and dedicated doctor, who is heroic enough to be more concerned with the health and well-being of the people he serves than for the well-being of the establishment.

For his stand against the PMG Complex, Dr. Wakefield has endured a world of hatred. Recently, his UK medical license was revoked. And just last week, the British Medical Journal retracted Dr. Wakefield's paper. (I feel a kinship to him because he is an "outlaw" to the establishment. I have long been at odds with the Nazi-like, allopathic California Board of Chiropractic Examiners. And, I just found out that, in China, this blog, "Correcting the Cause," that you are now reading, is blocked by the government.) The so-called news is full of stories calling Dr. Wakefield a fraud, and, thereby, exonerating vaccination, and medical practices in general, from any connection to autism.

When so-called medical experts are asked about the skyrocketing rates of autism, they reply that it must be the environment, or genetics. How stupid do they think that we are? How can the human genome change so drastically in two generations? Ridiculous! Environment? Though the political neurosis about the environment gets worse over the years, the environment is so much cleaner now than when I was growing up in the fifties. Leaded gas, leaded paint, asbestos, factories belching all kinds of toxic gasses and particulates and dumping all kinds of chemicals wherever they wanted? That stuff is basically gone.

So, what's the story? The "medical experts" are full of you-know-what." Thes vaccinations, besides the very questionable biological content, are full of all sorts of disgusting neurotoxins, including formaldehyde, mercury, aluminum, anti-freeze... Dump this pollution into the environment of a child's bloodstream, and you are not protecting that child's health. you are destroying it.

You think I'm nuts? You do the research. Start with the National Vaccine Information Center.

The current (and continuing) attacks on Dr. Wakefield, concommittant with the absolute support of serial vaccination, is a war upon the health of the chilren of the world. It is despicable.

If they lie about this, if they will protect their position at any cost, including the cost of children, what else are they lying about?

Better health expectations in the New Year

Hey! It's a New Year. What about new... better... more rational expectations for your health?

Maybe better health begins with better expectations, or, at least, the belief in the possibility of better health. Is this a useful train of thought? I'll go beyond that. This is a revolutionary train of thought. Why? No one goes, no one ventures, where there is no expectation. In fact, a good expectation is what dazzles. Did Columbus just go for a cruise?

What is the expected norm of health, or lack thereof? A body out of control, living upon a near-constant stream of drugs, from childhood vaccines to anti-depressants to blood-thinners. Vitually nothing gets well. You "live with it"... you accept it. This lifetime of insanity is run by a system that has the nerve (excuse the term) to call itself a health care system.

Chiropractic understands that your body is a self-healing, self-controlling, self-perfecting organism. Remove interference to this process, and you will thrive. You will be healthy.

Or, you can go back to believing all of the negative medical myths.

In this New Year, you can expect better, and go for it... or not. Up to you. If you want better, I will help you.

Since Newsweek brought up vaccination non-compliance...

Since that nitwit Newsweek writer dumped on Marin for having an exemplary (in my view) low rate of vaccination compliance, I thought that I would share with you links of some articles that I have had published on the subject. This is why I take personal pride in that exemplary record.

11/1/07: Marin Independent Journal: “Is there a vaccine that protects against non-science?” Marin Independent Journal 11/1/07: http://chirodrharte.com/articles/vaccine_for_non_science.pdf

1/27/04: SF Chronicle: Alternative to the sting of a failed flu vaccine: http://articles.sfgate.com/2004-01-27/opinion/17409220_1_flu-vaccine-flu-shot-flu-strain

12/17/99: Marin Independent Journal: http://chirodrharte.com/articles/vaccines_myth.pdf

Have a read, and forward these on. Let's make Marin's vaccination non-compliance even greater!

You want a good immune system, for yourself and for your kids? You will need a nervous system without interference. You will need to be under regular wellness chiropractic care.

Newsweek dumps on Marin County

Want to see a prime example of medical arrogance/stupidity/cultism? Check out this week's Newsweek Magazine, page 11, "Autism and the Affluent," by Seth Mnookin.

Let's start with the story's "pull quote," "The vaccine rate has plummeted in places where people put 'Darwin fish' stickers on their hybrid cars." The story is about this guy's musings that affluent areas (as if that is something to be ashamed of) full of "degree-laden denizens (should we be ashamed of higher education?) and their obsessive approach to parenting."

Monookin, the medical cultist cites "Marin County, just north of San Francisco, is another example: it has the nation's fifth-highest average per capita income - and an exemtion rate more than three times th rest of the state." {Please forgive the weird punctuation/grammar. It appears that Newsweek's copy editors are not overly "degree-laden."}

I read about Marin's magnificent achievement in "saying no to vaccination" in the Chronicle last Spring. I take a huge amount of personal pride in this. I believe that no one has had more published on the futility and dangers of vaccination than I have. I am gratified that the people of Marin are listening, saving their children from needless iatrogenic (that means "physician-caused") poisoning, leading to many pediatric conditions that have been skyrocketing. Besides autism, check out the extremely increasing rates of type I (juvenile) diabetes, juvenile arthritis, asthma, and various learning disabilities.

When you dump a witch's brew of neurotoxins (contained in vaccines) into a child's bloodstream, what would a rational person expect... more health, or less health? HEY, NEWSWEEK, AT LEAST WE IN MARIN COUNTY CAN FIGURE THIS OUT.

I guess Newsweek must think that all of its readers are stupid. Go two more pages, and you will find a full page ad for Lovaza: "Ask your doctor about an FDA-approved medication made from omega-3 fish oil: LOVAZA." Come on! You can pick that up, in a more natural and safet form, and much cheaper, in any health food store.

What do YOU think?

PS: I wonder what this idiot of a magazine writer who have to say about Chiropractic? What would he say about "obsessive parenting" in Marin that causes parents to have the wisdom to bring in their children to be adjusted so that they can better fulfil their genetic potential? How subluxated is this guy???
