The ChOLESTEROL MYTH...vs. Real Health Care

Yes, the whole deal with cholesterol is myth. But it is myth with a purpose. It's purpose is to sell millions of dollars of statins, the drugs that reduce cholesterol.

Statins are part of the alleged heart disease preventative regimen prescribed for just about everyone over 50 these days. The rest are drugs to reduce blood pressure (usually excessively) and, often, drugs to "thin the blood." All this to prevent heart attacks and strokes. Does it work? No. But almost everyone continues, because "The Doctor says."

THE TRUTH

Cholesterol is NOT a poison. In fact, it is made by the body, in the liver. It is integral to your hormones, to cellular metabolism, and, most importantly, to proper function of the nervous system. Side effects of statins include muscle damage, diabetes, cataracts, and serious damage (sometimes fatal) to the liver and kidneys. I believe that these statin drugs (LIPITOR, MEVACHOL, CRESTOR, ZOCOR, etc.) are part of the reason for the epidemic of Alzheimer's and other dementias.

WHAT TO DO?

Want a healthy heart and good circulation? The circulatory system does not run on its own. It is controlled and coordinated by your brain and nervous system. If there is interference to this control and coordination (VERTEBRAL SUBLUXATION COMPLEX... VSC), then your heart and the rest of the circulatory system, and the rest of your metabolism that helps it do its job, will not function properly, a state of "dis-ease." After a time, comes actual disease, sometimes serious, sometimes fatal.

So, want a healthy heart? Get checked for VSC. Get adjusted.

That means that you need to tell everyone you know who is on statins, blood pressure meds, blood thinners, etc., and especially those who have had or are threatened with heart surgery, from stents to open heart.

Psychotic Anti-psychotic Drugging by Corte Madera chiropractor Dr Harte

Have you been noticing more and more TV ads for "Amblify," and anti-psychotic drug?

Are they advertising to diagnosed psychotics? No, they are hawking their dangerous snake-oil to people who are depressed (or who have been convinced that they are depressed). The whole schtick is that the modern anti-depressants, the SSRI's (like Prozac, Wellbutrin, etc.), which were originally touted as "miracle drugs," really don't work so well, and when they don't, "add Amblify." These sleazy ads fail to mention that Amblify is not classified as an anti-depressant; it is an anti-psychotic, with all the attendant increased dangers.

Amongst the side effects that are mentioned quickly while there is nice music in the background and the cartoon character woman looks all smiley, include "low blood sugar that can lead to coma and death," and "thoughts of suicide." Well, thoughts of suicide can certainly lead to death. Now that's depressing!

Got psych problems? Get checked for Vertebral Subluxation. Get adjusted. Why? Your psych problems are, obviously, in your brain. The brain, the cord, the nerves... it's all one very sensitive piece. Interference at any level can and will effect brain function, including attitudes, emotions, mood, etc. (The most serious areas of interference are at the very top and the very bottom of the spine.) Correct interference, and your brain will be freer to function better.

Medicine's "biochemical imbalance theory" is based upon supposition and fake science. Chiropractic is based upon how the body (including the brain) truly works.

Weak vs. Strong Chiropractic by Corte Madera chiropractor Dr Harte

"Seven days without an adjustment makes one weak."  - B.J. Palmer, D.C., Ph.C.

I know that you have heard the foolish refrain, "I tried Chiropractic but it didn't work." Well, maybe it wasn't serious Chiropractic. Maybe it wasn't even Chiropractic at all.

One main culprit in the failure of chiropractors (NOT Chiropractic) is the deliberate lack of enough care. "Let's see you a couple of times this week and next, and see what happens." This is the mark of a moron who has no self-esteem and/or no esteem for the Innate Intelligence to heal the body. Or it could be the mark of a moron who is signed up with one of those managed care plans, which allows 3-5 visits, or maybe 7 if the doc writes a really creative report. No one gets well in 3 or 5 or 7 visits. This is like 5 minute brain surgery. Absurd.

It is the duty of a chiropractor to tell the truth, the real truth, about how much care you need. Once your subluxation situation is reasonably improved, wellness care, at least once a week, is recommended. "Oh, I have to keep coming?" Well, do you have to keep exercising, or eating well? Same thing.

What could be more important than keeping your nervous system free of interference?

One More Dumb Attack

This past weekend, I was happily spreading the word about health through Chiropractic, screening people for subluxation in front of a post office.

This woman loudly yells "Don't let him touch you! This is a scam. Chiropractors have no science. They hardly go to school." On the way out of the post office, she went off again, as I was palpating (manually looking for misalignment) a woman's neck: "That's the worst. Chiropractic manipulation of the neck causes strokes." I asked her what makes her so nasty and so uneducated. She glared at me.(Maybe there is a time and place for psych meds.)

Why such hatred? And why such ignorance?

Chiro school is as long as med school. Same basic sciences... anatomy, histology, physiology, etc. Different clinical studies, of course.

The claim that Chiropractic is at all dangerous is laughable. See my article that I wrote some years ago in the SF Chronicle. "Where is the Danger in Chiropractic?" The short answer? There isn't any. And the charge coming from a profession as dangerous as Medicine, that's even more ridiculous. Pure cultism on the part of medical fanatics.

To say that Chiropractic is unscientific is to be ignorant of basic biology. The nerve system runs everything... every system, every organ, every tissue, every cell in the body, and relates all these to each other, for the good of the whole. Fact. If there exists interference with this control and communication, Vertebral Subluxation, then things cannot function properly, and health suffers. When subluxation is corrected by chiropractic adjustment, health improves. Simple. To rail against basic biological law labels one just plain dumb.

I must wonder how subluxated that woman is?

The Second Most Important Chiropractic Practice Member

The second most important type of person to be under chiropractic care? The child.

"Huh? Little kids don't have backaches. Why do they need a chiropractor?" Well, first off, Chiropractic  IS NOT about back pain, though most with back pain do get better with it. Chiropractic is about liberating your nerve system from THE most destructive factor to your health... Vertebral Subluxation Complex (VSC). This allows your body to heal itself, and to operate at a higher level... physically, mentally and socially. The trauma of modern medical childbirth usually results in VSC. So, when should a child get checked for VSC? Right after birth.

Why? VSC is a bad thing, a very bad thing. If you know that it may exist in your child, why would you want to wait to get it corrected? Realize that by the early correction of VSC, a baby is free not just to be healthy, but also to more fully express his or her genetic potential. Or, would you rather your child be less than he or she could be?

You see, once you know, it is just plain wrong NOT to get your child checked and adjusted, on a lifetime, wellness basis.

In case you're wondering what your pediatrician knows about Vertebral Subluxation Complex, the answer is nothing.

Oh, in case you're wondering who is the FIRST most important type of person to be under chiropractic care, it is the pregnant woman. Why? Because the state of her nerve system determines her health, and her health determines the health of her baby, developing inside.

Dr Harte's Re-Learning of the Stress Cause of VSC

This past weekend, I was at truly outstanding chiropractic seminar, "The Wave." Well-adjusted the first day, hearing great speakers, surrounded by my brother and sister chiropractors, who are real chiropractors, not medical wannabees. I was feeling good!

Then, a speaker came on the stage, with whom I had had some problems with. He said something that, I knew, truly exposed his evil character. (It had to do with his anti-Semitism.) Steam was coming out of my ears. I could feel the vertebrae in my neck spinning, and I knew that I was extremely subluxated. I stormed out of the room, found a colleague, and got him to adjust me. Instantly, not only did I feel better physically, but the rage disappeared.

Over a hundred years ago, the founder of Chiropractic, Dr. D.D. Palmer, wrote (in his 19th Century languaging) that there are three cause of subluxation: "traumatism, intoxication and autosuggestion." In today's vernacular, physical trauma, bad chemicals and stress. He rated stress as the worst cause, chemicals as #2, and physical trauma, what everyone thinks of in relation to Chiropractic, as the least important cause.

Go over your own life, not just last week, but your whole life. What traumas... emotional, chemical and physical... have you been through? The subluxations they produced, whether painful or not, exist today to disallow you from expressing Life fully. Some may cause pain. Some may cause disease. All will cause dis-ease, a lack of normal function.

Get checked. Get adjusted. Get everyone you know in to get checked. You are in a position to radically change people's lives for the better! You might save a life!

Dr Harte reports on One More Chiropractic Tragedy

A few days ago, I met a man, a year younger than I, who had had a stroke. It was particularly disturbing that he had a seven year old little girl. So his wife had to care more for him than the little girl.

The chiropractic tragedy? This poor man is going to a chiropractor, or, more accurately, and excuse-for-a-chiropractor. She took no X-rays, did no nerve scans, did no plan of care. Oh, but she also does acupuncture. (Why would you want acupuncture from a chiropractor? And why would a chiropractor want to do acupuncture?) The most shocking thing? This man never heard the word "subluxation." I explained to him that that is like going to the cardiologist and never hearing "blood pressure," "cholesterol," etc. Or going to the dentist and never hearing "teeth." Madness!

This madness is a tragedy. This man is getting garbage care. He thinks that it is Chiropractic, but it is not. He will derive little to no benefit from it, when he is in such extreme need for authentic chiropractic care. He will float, more and more, back to Medical Land, where more tragedy awaits.

If he had an authentic chiropractor, he would have a fighting chance. Always insist upon the real thing. Chiropractic is the detection, analysis and correction of Vertebral Subluxation Complex.

Chiropractic and the Olympics: Performance vs. Treatment by Corte Madera chiropractor Dr Harte

The Olympics are on.

These days, it is commonplace for chiropractors to be part of the support team for most olympic teams. Common sense.

Why? To treat injuries? No. To allow for as close to 100% of human potential as possible? yes!

Don't you, in your regular, non-Olympic life, want to do the same?

Don't understand? You are your nervous system. You sense your environment through your nervous system. You act through your nervous system. Your body does every function through your nervous system. If you have Vertebral Subluxation Complex (VSC), you will be at a loss; you will express less life. Gentle, specific, scientific chiropractic adjustments allow your body to express itself as close to 100% as possible. This is important if you are competing in freestyle swimming, or the shot put, or in doing the best at your own tennis game, or your own jogging regimen, or doing well in your job, or getting along in your family. Life is best expressed with no interference, This is why you see a chiropractor. In a sense, Life is your own Olympics.

What Effect Does Chiropractic Have on Mental Illness?

Most people associate Chiropractic with dealing with neck and back pain. This is wrong, and this is sad. Sad because Chiropractic is so much more. Going for back pain only is like going to a fine French restaurant, just to munch on the bread.

Chiropractic adjustments liberate the brain and the nerve system from the devastating effects of Vertebral Subluxation Complex. Of course, mental problems reside in the brain... mostly. (Actually the emotional part of the brain, the limbic system, extends into the spinal cord, half way down the spine. So, part of your "emotional" brain is actually in the spine.)

What parts of the spine are most important here? The upper cervical spine, the base of the skull and the first two vertebrae, are like the main switch. When subluxated, there can be torsion on the meninges (the covering over the brain and the cord, containing the cerebro-spinal fluid, the CSF), effecting the CSF, direct pressure on the cord and those spinal nerves, and interference to normal blood flow to the brain. Critical menigeal attachments are also present at the other end of the spine, at the sacrum and the coccyx, the tailbone. I have seen many cases of mental illness, many serious cases, with severe subluxation of the coccyx. And I have seen these people get well, often dramatically after adjustment to the coccyx. Very few chiropractors analyze and adjust the coccyx. Personally, I think that this is critical.

Besides these special areas of the spine, any vertebral subluxation will cause some torsion of the meninges. And any vertebral subluxation will alter the expression of life to a variety of organs. As long as these organs receive an abnormal nerve supply, they will not and cannot function properly. The health of the rest of the body, too, effects the brain, including emotional states.

In the early decades of the 20th century, there were several chiropractic sanitoriums. There, instead of the barbarism of psychiatric treatments, from drugs to ice water baths to insulin shock to various restraints, these mental patients were adjusted. The degree of success in these chiropractic institutions was far greater, no match at all, than the medical hell holes.

What of today's psychiatry? Talk therapy has been replaced by drug therapy, based upon the made-up story  that mental illness is from a "biochemical imbalance." The side effects of these drugs can be horrific. And the patients seem to be patients forever. Then, there's the problem of pathologizing every difference in human behavior, especially prominent in pediatric psychology. A colleague of mine, Dr. Chris Kent, called the DSM (the huge book that has all the billable codes for all of the psychiatric diagnoses) "Mad Magazine for psychiatrists." Is something wrong with this picture?

Every human being should be under regular, wellness chiropractic care. Certainly, everyone with a mental, emotional or behavioral problem should be under chiropractic care.

Subluxation… VSC… is this a big deal? Corte Madera Chiropractor Dr Harte

Have you been concerned about what the drugs companies have sold you to be concerned about…your blood pressure, your cholesterol levels, your weight, your family history? Think on what you are being exposed to, now, for the first time! Think!

From what you now know, from reading this blog and/or from being a Member of this practice, you can comprehend that subluxation (VSC) is the most critical risk factor to you and your health. Subluxation allows your suffering, your disabilities, your symptoms, your diseases, to occur. Pain? Maybe? Conditions and diseases, from annoying to life-threatening? Yes! Lack of good health and vitality? Certainly!

Only chiropractic adjustments remove subluxation. There is no substitute.

·      With SUBLUXATION: your body is chaotic, and sick

·      Without SUBLUXATION: your body becomes harmonious, it heals itself, it improves upon itself.

Tale of Two Very Smart Very Cool Women

Most people confine their chiropractic thinking to back and neck pain. This extends from themselves to talking to others about Chiropractic. Sure, to suffer with back or neck pain without considering Chiropractic is foolish. But to not consider Chiropractic as part of Health is foolish as well.

Today I got a call from a practice member who is relatively new, still in Initial Intensive Care. She asked me to call a neighbor of hers whose husband is facing prostate cancer surgery. I did, and I had a long talk with that neighbor. She told me that this practice member had told her that everything is controlled by the nervous system, which was "a new concept" to her. It is the basic concept of Chiropractic, which is not at all subject to debate, for it is basic biological fact. It is a simple concept, yet virtually unknown among the general public. I thought, "If everyone knew this, everyone would be under chiropractic care, as it should be." I was heartened that this practice member understood this, and was able and willing to pass this on to someone else so that a loved one could benefit. I was especially heartened that she would go so far beyond the back/neck thing, all the way to cancer.

If any of you are getting nervous or angry that that Dr. Harte is now claiming a cure for cancer, relax. I am doing no such thing. (Cancer has been a "third rail" for chiropractors. "Third rail?" That's a New York term. The third rail is the rail in the subway where the massive electric current runs to run the trains. You touch that rail, you're toast, literally. Me? I am immune to such things. I tell the truth, no matter what.) What I told the woman is that, whether her husband gets the surgery or not, whether his prostate cancer is slow or fast ("they" don't know), he will be better off with less nerve interference, Vertebral Subluxation Complex. With less nerve interference, his immune system (which protects against cancer), along with every other system, will work better. Simple. I told her, specifically, that I am not offering a cure for his cancer. She said "Good. If you did, I would run the other way as fast as I can." Smart woman.

And damn smart for considering chiropractic care for her husband when most people totally lose their minds to the much-exalted specialists.

Perhaps Chiropractic is more for thinking people.

Earth Day in Marin and real Chiropractic

Earth Day. There's been a whole lot of talk about "sustainability."

The ultimate sustainability, in my book, is life itself... the Innate Intelligence within every living thing, directing, controlling, coordinating, healing. Medicine sees each person as needing constant help from the outside to tell the body what to do. This is Outside-in thinking.

Chiropractic understands that life sustains itself, from Above-down, Inside-out. Your Innate Intelligence will always do everything that it can to sustain health, unless there is interference with its expression. The main interference is Vertebral Subluxation Complex, which is corrected by the chiropractic adjustment. Nothing added. Nothing taken away. This is sustainable.

A Great Man Passes, by Dr Harte, Corte Madera chiropractor

A great man just passed away, off to that great Adjustatorium in the sky. Reginald Gold, D.C., known and loved by principled chiropractors, worldwide, simply as "Reggie."

Reggie was little known outside of the profession. (In fact, he was little known by the, sadly, huge segment of the profession who have abandoned principles in a vain search for societal acceptance.) It strikes me as odd who is so well known in our society, and so publicly mourned... Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, etc. Yes, they had their musical talents, and they entertained us. But they never saved anyone's life. No one's life would have been different if they never existed. And what kind of example were they? They were all drug addicts, that died as a result of their own vile habits. They were not heroes in any sense of the word.

Reggie, on the other hand, saved uncounted tens of thousands of lives over decades. How? First, he was a chiropractor. He was a real chiropractor, a straight chiropractor, who knew that his sole purpose was to detect, analyze and correct vertebral subluxation, THE #1 threat to health. This makes the chiropractic adjustment THE #1 best thing that you can do for health. He understood that health does NOT come from Outside-in, like drugs and surgery. He understood that health comes only from Above-down, Inside-out. He began his practice in, I believe, the early 60's, in Spring Valley, New York, back when Chiropractic was illegal in the State of New York.

Reggie taught Chiropractic Philosophy at my alma mater, New York Chiropractic College, until they decided to go down the allopathic, medically-oriented road. They wanted him to still be on the faculty list so that they could use his name. They just didn't want him to teach the real word of Chiropractic anymore. he quit. Over time, Reggie was banned from many chiropractic colleges, so he spoke off-campus, and the students came. That is how my wife and I first heard him, back in 1977. At the time, he had long hair, huge mutton chop sideburns, and he wore turquoise jewelry all over. For my birthday that followed, my wife got me a big, clunky Reggie turquoise bracelet, which I wear to this day.

You have read my reports and thoughts over the damage that the chiropractic colleges have done, and especially the damage done by our accrediting agency, the CCE, the Council on Chiropractic Accreditation. We call it the Council on Chiropractic Elimination. Three decades ago, Reggie founded his own chiropractic college and a new chiropractic accrediting agency. Eventually, they were both crushed by the powers that be. But that effort serves as an example in courage, and example that we straight, principled chiropractors follow today in combating the CCE and various other destructive, fraudulent forces.

Over the decades, thousands of lay people and chiropractors have heard the message of Reggie, that the Power that made the body heals the body, and that everyone... anyone is always better off with less or no vertebral subluxation. He always challenges people to bring in their kids and their grandkids so that their light can be turned on.

Reggie has taught and inspired thousands of chiropractors, including myself. What those chiropractors have taught others, and what those chiropractors have done for others in terms of correcting vertebral subluxation, have improved millions of lives, and undoubtedly saved tens of thousands.

Reggie has made his mark upon the chiropractic profession, and thus, upon the course of humanity. He was a true hero to humanity. His love, his dedication, his passion to serve, will always be in my heart. I will do my best to honor his memory by, every single day, being the best chiropractor that I can be, and by helping my fellow chiropractors to do the same.

G-d bless you, Reggie.

Baby's First Adjustment by Corte Madera chiropractor Dr Harte

I have often been asked, “When, at what age, should chiropractic care begin?” A good question!

Some people are shocked at the idea of chiropractic care for children. Even some of my (very much) lesser colleagues might think or even say, “What do kids need adjustments for? They don’t have backaches.” Well, some kids do, but not typically. Anyway, this misses the point. Chiropractic is about health, about the full expression of
Life… important for everyone… critical for children. Anyone and everyone with a spine, a nervous system and life force needs to be checked for interference to the nervous system, what is called Vertebral Subluxation Complex, or VSC.

What is VSC? It is a misalignment/dysfunction of a vertebra from the one above or below, causing an interference to the function of the nervous system. Most subluxations do NOT involve pain, but every subluxation takes away from the full expression of life.

So, let’s rephrase the question: At what age should anyone/everyone be checked for Vertebral Subluxation Complex (VSC)? Once you become aware of its full health implications, that VSC is THE most serious health risk factor, then the answer is obvious… as soon as one might acquire VSC. When is that?

The birth process, as tough as it is for mom, is tougher, and considerably more dangerous for baby. Abraham Towbin, M.D. found that sudden infant crib death caused by spinal damage to the nervous system (VSC) during the birth process. He noted that 7 of 8 autopsies showed this to be the cause of death in SIDS victims. David Yashon, M.D. confirmed Towbin's findings, and reports that the delivery process is a cause of spinal injury with nerve damage, resulting in  10% of infant death. G. Gutmann, M.D. writes that 80% of the children that he examined shortly after birth, or as infants, were suffering from subluxation of the atlas, the first bone in the neck, causing all manner of diseases. Larry Webster, D.C. declares “Chiropractic care must begin at birth.” He notes that the average pull today (from medical childbirth) is between 90 and 140 lbs.  The spine can be stretched 1/2" before injury.  The spinal cord can be stretched 2 1/4" before injury. A study entitled "Immediate Management of the Traumatized Infant" says "Birth trauma was, nonetheless, the sixth leading cause of neonatal mortality in the United States in 1981." "It is still true that the most dangerous journey some people will ever undertake is that from the womb to the outside world."

Yes, the birth process is generally THE first gross insult to your baby’s nervous system, to your baby’s health… Vertebral Subluxation Complex. Not only do you want your child to be healthy now; you want him or her to grow up expressing his or her genetic potential… physically, mentally and socially. This is why EVERY child should be checked by a straight chiropractor for Vertebral Subluxation Complex, right at birth if possible.

Chiropractic Transvestites by Corte Madera chiropractor Dr Harte

Last weekend, I attended one of those awful "continuing education" seminars, ordered by the Board.

A lot of people have been fooled into thinking that various government licensing boards exist to protect the public from fraud and to improve the quality of care from individual practitioners. No. This is merely a dance.

I will speak of my own profession, though I suspect that this is the case within others. The chiropractic board has no grand plan of excellence. Yes, they do get rid of the occasional sexual predator or drug addict. But the Board serves its own power, as is typical of government agencies. Changes of requirements and regulations are often not clear and often not disseminated properly. it is almost as if they want chiropractors to mess up, so that they can be prosecuted.

I had my own long war with them, which led to me being named WCA "Chiropractor of the Year" in 2006, and led to me becoming known within the profession as the "Chiropractic Avenger." But that story is for another time.

Let's get back to fraud. It seems that rather than taking action against fraud, what seminars that are approved by the Board appear to encourage fraud. How?

This seminar last weekend was a pseudo-medical orgy. I was shocked to see and hear the teaching of diagnosing of various kinds of cancers and other diseases from X-rays, and various physical therapy taping pf extremities as would be done by a physical therapist or a trainer.

What was the one word that was not mentioned during the whole seminar? Subluxation. This is the one thing that Chiropractic is supposed to be about... the detection, analysis and correction of subluxation. This seminar was designed for the chiropractor who yearns to be a "primary care provider," which means that he or she wants to take the place of the GP or medical internist. Yes, this is why I used the term "Chiropractic Transvestites." They want to dress up as something that they are not. Hey, whatever people want to do socially, as long as they don't push it on anyone else, fine. But a chiropractor playing this game, in my opinion, is passing into fraudulent territory. In some other states, the wildly medical fringe chiropractors have been pushing for prescription rights. Some chiropractic schools have dropped the word "chiropractic" from their names, and do not teach subluxation.

If a chiropractor does not accept the vitalistic philosophy of healing and health from Above-down, Inside-out, he or she should get out. If he or she wants to diagnose and treat like a medical doctor, act as a "primary care provider," then he or she should go to medical school. That would be the right thing to do. Dressing up is not the way to go.

I left med school to become a chiropractor, after a chiropractor saved my life. That's why I dedicate my life, every day, to save lives through Chiropractic. Understand that I am offended by fakes in my ranks. You, as health care consumers, should not tolerate fakes either.

Is Casual Chiropractic a Menace, asks Corte Madera chiropractor Dr Harte

Chiropractors, as a group, are a mellow lot. Some are excessively mellow, even terminally so.

I understand the feeling that chiropractors want to distance themselves from Medicine, from the formality. (Some are real medical wannabees, who might even sleep in their white coats and stethoscopes.) Yes, a chiropractor should distance himself from Medicine. More to the point, a chiropractor should be doing the detection, analysis and correction of vertebral subluxation... no more, no less. A chiropractor should NOT be doing diagnosis and treatment, which is, by definition, the practice of Medicine.

If you are paying attention to what's going on in what is alleged to be health care, you will have realized that a huge percentage of the science in Medicine is bogus, some by accident, and some purposely fraudulent. But that is no excuse for a chiropractor to be anti-science. Indeed, Chiropractic has long been defined as an art, a philosophy and a SCIENCE. With that science comes a seriousness, hopefully a passion, for the proper, lifetime correction of Vertebral Subluxation for as many people in his or her community as is humanly possible. No, this is not a War on Back Pain. This is a war on THE most serious threat to health, Vertebral Subluxation, in order to allow a fuller expression of Health, of Life.

The gravity of Vertebral Subluxation cannot be underestimated. It allows all the nasty smaller things like headache, indigestion, fatigue. It allows the really ugly things like stroke, heart attack, cancer (ew! did I violate some law mentioning "cancer" as a chiropractor?), auto-immune diseases. And it disallows the full expression of Life... physically, mentally, socially. This is especially true of subluxation in children. They are developing, growing. If they are subluxated, they cannot fully express their genetic potential. Subluxation is no simple backache issue. It is critical. Above all people, chiropractors must realize this. if they don't, they are failing in their duty to society. If a chiropractor fails to take Vertebral Subluxation seriously, that chiropractor should not be taken seriously.

"Serious" includes proper Science, Art and Philosophy. Proper science? A good history, exam, nerve scans, X-rays, with a defined schedule of care, with periodic progressive exams. Art? One or a combination of well-defined chiropractic techniques, to properly correct subluxation. Philosophy? A philosophy of life and health, understanding that healing, and health, only comes from Above-down, Inside-out.

Is casual chiropractic a menace? I think so, because it doesn't take vertebral subluxation, YOUR vertebral subluxation, YOUR health, YOUR life... seriously.

Actos, Diabetes and Death by Dr Harte, Corte Madera Chiropractor

The latest, of several diabetes drugs, to go from Wonder Drug to Blunder Drug is Actos. It seems this one can kill through heart attacks, like the others.

Then, it's been learned that the statin drugs (to lower cholesterol), because they interfere with carbohydrate metabolism, can lead to diabetes. Of course, this leads to treatment that leads to heart disease. Is this nuts, or what?

These drugs, with their bogus research that proves secondary effects like lowering cholesterol, never got anyone well. Why? You can't get health from a pill. You don't get diabetes from a DEFICIENCY of Actos, or any other diabetes medication. You get diabetes (type II) from a pancreas (and to a lesser extent), a liver and adrenals) that don't function properly. Vertebral subluxation interferes with function. Chiropractic adjustment restores function by allowing the body to do what it is supposed to do.

Health does not come from Outside-in. It only comes from Above-down, Inside-out.

If you detect a little extra passion in this post, it's because my father was killed by the medical treatment of his diabetes. He was 53.

Tell everyone you know who will listen about Chiropractic. You may save a life. You will certainly change lives.

Chiropractic isn't Alternative Anything says Corte Madera Chiropractor Dr Harte

I kind of cringe whenever someone puts Chiropractic in the slot of alternative, natural or complementary Medicine. I know that it's not meant in a nasty way. It's just that it's so wrong.

The operative word in Natural Medicine, Alternative Medicine, Complementary Medicine is, well... Medicine. Medicine is NOT an all-encompassing word for everything involving health. What Medicine is defined as is the diagnosis and treatment of disease. This is carried through whether it be traditional, "western" Medicine, or accupuncture, or herbal Medicine, whatever. All of these systems utilize the Educated Intelligence of the practitioner to heal the body from the Outside-in, in other words, to tell the body what to do.

Chiropractic is separate and distinct. The Principle of Chiropractic is that healing... health... only comes from Above-down, Inside-out. By the correction of nerve interference, Vertebral Subluxation through the chiropractic adjustment, the body heals itself, expresses more of Life. This is different... fundamentally different. from everything else.

A sad thing is when some of my lesser colleagues do not understand this, and they mistakenly guide people in the wrong direction, presenting Chiropractic as a natural treatment of back pain. Not so.

Wellness... Scientifically Defined: Corte Madera chiropractor Dr Harte

We walk a lot about wellness. I have previously written about how the word has been hijacked and abused.

Looking through some of the scientific studies I have available in the office, I came upon one of my favorites, "Surrogate Indication of DNA repair in Serum After Long term Chiropractic Intervention - A Retrospective Study," by Campbell, Kent, Banne, Amiri and Pero, in the Journal of Vertebral Subluxation Research.

Basically, this stuff in the blood (serum), serum thiol, is recognized as an indicator of the body's ability to repair it's own DNA. Contrary to what i was taught in school 100 years ago, our DNA is NOT static. Parts get turned on and off, depending upon life conditions (especially neurological). that's epigenetics, but a discussion of that is for another time. DNA, through life, gets damaged, and consequently, will not work as well. Yes the body can repair that damaged DNA. But how well?

This study shows that those under long-term wellness chiropractic care actually, verifiably, get wellness. This is why I say that Chiropractic is true health care. If you want the diagnosis and treatment of disease, which is Medicine, then go for it. You want health... wellness? Get checked for Vertebral Subluxation. Get adjusted.

Wellness, by Corte Madera Chiropractor Dr Harte

The PMG (Pharmaceutical-Medical-Governmental) Complex has stolen the word, and the concept, “WELLNESS.” Wellness is kind of an updated version of the concept of good health, or the more popular “healthy lifestyle.” All the while, Kaiser Permanente, in their endless ads, insists that it will help you “thrive.” Lotsa luck!

What does Medicine have to offer in the way of health or wellness? NOTHING. I am not saying that there is no place for Medicine, nor am I saying that Medicine is populated by bad people. What I am bringing out to you is that the purpose, the intent, of Medicine is NOT health, though it is commonly referred to as “health care.” Medicine is, by definition, the diagnosis and treatment of disease. They define and attack the disease, which has nothing to do with achieving wellness.

Realize that everything Medicine does, essentially drugs and surgery, is “Outside-in.” If we were born with a DEFICIENCY OF DRUGS AND AN EXCESS OF ORGANS, this process would achieve health. Alas, this is not to be. Being brutally honest, there is nothing in Medicine that promotes wellness.

Wellness, or “the healthy lifestyle,” if you prefer, is based upon healing, and function, from Above-down, Inside-out. People talk about the body’s ability to heal itself. Harvard book-writing M.D.’s like Deepak Chopra and Andrew Weil have become celebrities spouting this as revelation. Chiropractors have been saying this since 1895.

Want wellness? Eat well, exercise, rest well and maintain a healthy mental attitude. MOST IMPORTANTLY? Achieve and maintain a healthy brain and nervous system, as free as possible from interference… subluxation… so that they can control and coordinate every cell, tissue, organ and system in the body for the benefit of the whole. THIS IS CHIROPRACTIC.

You might say that so-and-so is healthy. Well, they may not be obviously sick. But if they are subluxated, by definition, they are not healthy. They are not well.

Regular lifetime chiropractic care is THE most important factor in Wellness.
