Latest Health Threat to Teens

From where? From the marketing geniuses/fiends of the PMG (Pharmaceutical-Medical-Governmental) Complex.

A recent article in the Wall Street Journal, "Special Age, Special Doctor," threatens a whole new medical specialty, with its inflated "risks," probably new diagnoses, both physical and mental, and vastly increased pushing of prescription drugs.

The assumptions for teens here? (1) The body is stupid. (2) There are all kinds of terrible threats out there. (3) Medicine has the answer to everything. (4) The more testing, diagnosing, treating, drugging... the healthier??? Or... the sicker???

The new "Adolescent Health" issues?

Acne. Well, Medicine's last big drug for acne, Accutane, ended up causing all kinds of damage, including Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Crohn's Disease. That will make a teen's life better, huh?

Tatoos and piercings: Risk of hepatitis. I guess that they don't really believe that their vaccinations work

Sports Injury: They recommend a back exam. Now that is funny! What does a pediatrician or teen-pediatrician knows about the spine?

Mental Disorders: A great deal of this is caused, or at least exacerbated, by pediatricians who prescribe anti-depressants to children as young as two years old. With their developing brain chemistry so perverted, by the time they are five or six, they are so wacky that they are then diagnosed as "bi-polar," and are given anti-psychotics. Then there's all the ADHD drugs, which are different forms of "speed."

When I was growing up, there were no teen pediatricians, and hardly and regular pediatricians. Amazing that we survived, isn't it?

Use your head, Parents! The more Medicine, including the latest fads*, that your teen gets, the sicker he or she will be.

Use your head. Get their nervous system checked. Like everyone else at every age, they need chiropractic care too.

Neurosurgeon's Orgy

One of my most dinstinguished and cherished Practice Members brought me in an article (3/29/11) from the Wall Street Journal: "Medicare Records Reveal Troubling Trail of Surgeries." One of his more abused patients has had six surgeries, and finally turned down #7.

The story is mostly devoted to a neurosurgeon in Texas who, habitually, does multiple spinal fusions, in a short period of time, on many of his patients. The article highlights some of the resulting suffering that this has caused. It was my impression that the underlying implication is that the government should more closely monitor what doctors are doing. But, on other fronts (not a subject of this article), there are legislative moves to limit medical malpractice.

With the exceptions of unstable fracture, some cases of invasive bone cancer, and some severe cases of infection, spinal surgery, and certainly spinal fusion, is an unnecessary, barbaric procedure.

That's right, I said "barbaric." People are cut open, exposed to the very significant dangers of anesthesia reaction and nocosomial (from the hospital) infection, parts of bone and disk cut out and sometimes weird surgical devices put in, with tools that you would expect in a (rough) carpentry shop.

Results? Almost everyone who undergoes spinal surgeries, and especially fusions, get worse, often terribly worse. This, of course, is the "in" for further surgeries. I knew a man in his 40's who had had eleven (11) spinal surgeries. His life was a wretched haze of drugs and pain.

Have you been threatened with spinal surgery, or know someone who has? Despite the medical "facts" presented to you, despite the wagging of the Medical Voodoo Finger, have the common sense to say "No!"

Continuing with common sense, it is time to get checked for Vertebral Subluxation Complex. (No the neurosurgeon doesn't know what that is, and, for sure, cannot do anything about it.

What do you think?

Potholes, Medicine and Chiropractic

It's Springtime in Marin. That means, when you're driving, watch out for those new, big, ugly potholes. Most are previously repaired potholes, that were never fixed right. Do you see where I'm going yet?

Medicine never really fixes the road. They patch it. Sometimes the patch is a dangerous surgical procedure. Sometimes it's a drug to cover up the hypertension, the diabetes, the gout, the depresssion, the ezcema, the menopausal symptoms, the GERD.... whatever. Do you realize that it... whatever it is that you have, that you are suffering from... is never fixed? It is merely patched, like filling a pothole without fixing the road.

Now when you hit a pothole, when it is big and ugly enough, can lead to other problems... damaged suspension, unbalanced wheels, even serious damage to tires that may lead to a serious accident. What about your "filled-in potholes," your conditions that are sort of controlled/maintained by Medicine? What happens when they open up, and suddenly get bigger? What can happen to you?

Chiropractic is totally different story. We don't fill in your potholes. In other words, we don't treat your diseases or conditions. In fact, we recognize that your "road," your body, is living, and therefore guided by that self-healing, self-correcting, even self-perfecting miracle called Innate Intelligence. We correct interference to that magic, that Innate Intelligence, and the road fixes itself. New cells. New messages. New road.

What makes more sense? What leads to Health? What doesn't?

The Ultimate Benefit of the Chiropractic Adjustment

What is the ultimate, the most profound, the sweetest benefit of getting adjusted?

NO, it's not back pain relief, though that happens almost all the time. No it's not the lessening or even disappearance of symptoms or diseases, though that's as common as rain in winter here. No, it's not an overall improved vitality, or an increased sense of well-being, though over 90 % of my practice members experience this.

So???

We are all born with a blueprint. That blueprint is our genes. There are a very few genes that have near 100% "penetrance," which means that they are 100% expressed. A good example is your eye color. What ever your genes say... done. However, most genes present a range, sometimes a broad range, of possibilities.

What kind of genetic possibilities? How well your systems, organs, tissues and cells will function. How well your brain will function. This will determine how healthy you are at the most basic level. This will dtermine at what level you will function. Big stuff, huh? Wait, we're not done.

What about as a child develops, from birth on? If that child is checked and adjusted from birth, as he or she develops, that development will be optimal. We are talking how Chiropractic allows the better expression of genetic potential. How much better a human being will that child grow to be... physically, mentally, spiritually?

What if you and I really put out the love and the effort to tell the Chiropractic Story to everyone you know, especially your family and best friends? What if every chiropractor and every practice member world-wide does this, week after week, month after month, year after year? Despite the multi-billion dollar brainwashing of Big Pharma, we, as a society, may finally get the idea that the #1 health risk is not cholesterol, or blood pressure or family history. It is Vertebral Subluxation Complex (VSC). We, as a society, would understand that the first subluxation is generally at birth, at that babies should be checked then and there, and from then on. Then, it would be normal for all kids to be under regular wellness chiropractic care.

If almost all kids grew up without subluxation, or even 10%, what kind of people would they be? What would the world become? Might the genetic potential of the human species unfold to greater potential? Think on that.

One more step. Who might be even more important to get adjusted than kids? How about pregnant moms? Does not their health determine the health, and potential, of the their babies? Why not start at the very beginning? And what if both mon and dad were adjusted for a period of time before conception?

You want a better world? Talk to everyone you know. Tell them the truth... the Chiropractic Truth.... even if some scoff at you... even if only one out of ten "get it." For that one, you will have changed a life, and begun to change the community and, ultimately, the world.

This is called the Big Vision of Chiropractic. Come along with me!

Half of all Alzheimer’s patients don’t really have the disease

Once again, Medicine is making mistakes on a breath-taking scale. Yet, many of you still trust Them. When will you get it that They don't get it???

New research shows that Alzheimer’s disease and other dementing illnesses are often misdiagnosed in the elderly, leading to incorrect treatment and medications.
That is the conclusion of a study released on Feb. 23 and will be presented as part of a plenary session at the American Academy of Neurology’s Annual Meeting in April.
“Diagnosing specific dementias in people who are very old is complex, but with the large increase in dementia cases expected within the next 10 years in the United States, it will be increasingly important to correctly recognize, diagnose, prevent and treat age-related cognitive decline,” said study author Lon White, MD, MPH, with the Kuakini Medical System in Honolulu.

Asthma, Immune System and Chiropractic

Have you been seeing the ad for the asthma drug, Symbicort? While it pictures these happy, breathing well people, it warns that this drug increases the chance of death from asthma. Here's some gems from the website:

  • WARNING: Long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonists (LABA), such as formoterol, one of the active ingredients in SYMBICORT, increase the risk of asthma-related death.
It is possible that systemic corticosteroid effects such as hypercorticism and adrenal suppression may occur, particularly at higher doses... Deaths due to adrenal insufficiency have occurred in asthmatic patients during and after transfer from systemic corticosteroids to less systemically available inhaled corticosteroids.
Excessive beta-adrenergic stimulation has been associated with central nervous system and cardiovascular effects. SYMBICORT, like all products containing sympathomimetic amines, should be used with caution in patients with convulsive disorders, thyrotoxicosis, and cardiovascular disorders, especially coronary insufficiency, cardiac arrhythmias, and hypertension.  As with other inhaled medications, paradoxical bronchospasm may occur with SYMBICORT. {That means that it'll make you worse.} Use with caution in patients with diabetes mellitus.
Long-term use of orally inhaled corticosteroids, such as budesonide, a component of SYMBICORT, may result in a reduction in growth velocity and/or a loss of bone mineral density. {Sure, then they can prescribe Fosamax or Boniva.}
Glaucoma, increased intraocular pressure, and cataracts have been reported following the inhaled administration of corticosteroids, including budesonide, a component of SYMBICORT.

Why not jet adjusted... correct the cause, so that the lungs and the immune system can begin to normalize?

Poor quality physical medicine

Most people who are not members of a straight chiropractic practice, such as mine, The Harte of Chiropractic, have a bizarre view of Chiropractic. (This most definitely includes many people in Marin who claim that they "really know Chiropractic.") Not their fault. Most chiropractors, to be blunt (sorry, it's a birth defect coming from New York) operate as a fancy version of something between a masseuse and a physical therapist.

It's fine being either a masseuse or a physical therapist. They should do what they do. A chiropractor should not do what they do. A chiropractor should practice Chiropractic. Obvious? No. Read on.

If you went to a cardiologist, and she gave you a haircut, would you call the process of haircutting "cardiology?" If a dermatologist came to your house to fix a broken pipe, would you call plumbing "dermatology?" Of course not.

Now, here's the rub. (Excused the pun.) So many chiropractors are confused, which has confused so many people that intelligent people don't know that what these confused chiropractors are doing is some drugless, low form of physical medicine. (A law almost passed in New Mexico, which would have given chiropractors the ability tom prescribe drugs. So, you can see that these lower forms of chiropractors actually crave the power to prescribe drugs, to be considered RD's, "real doctors.")

Treating back or neck pain, or any kind of pain, is not Chiropractic. Treating anything is not Chiropractic. Correcting the cause (the name of this blog), adjusting to remove Vertebral Subluxation Complex, to allow the body to heal and function at a higher level... That is Chiropractic.

Massage therapy, while it is very nice, should not be in a chiropractic office. Nor should pain glop like BioFreeze, or cold lasers or that modern incarnation of the medieval rack, the disk decompression table. Then there are the chiropractors who, believe it or not, never really learned how to adjust, and so, are afraid to adjust. They tend to use weird instruments that vibrate the spine.

Get the real thing... Gentle, specific, scientific chiropractic adjustments.

Health Care: Are you able to think critically... really?

"Unthinking respect for authority is the greatest enemy of truth."
 -Dr. Albert Einstein

" I once read that near the end of the war, a ship set sail for the United States with a group of German prisoners of war on board. These were no ordinary prisoners, but members of the high command of the Third Reich. They were being brought to the US for interrogation. Near the end of their voyage, they were given a fine meal, and they began sneering at the Americans for giving them this food. The Americans could not understand why their generosity was regarded with such contempt. The Germans then said that they knew the Americans did not have an abundance of food sufficient to give them such a meal, and that obviously the Americans must be patronizing them because the roles of captor and captive would soon be reversed. The Americans insisted they were wrong, but the Germans wouldn't hear of it. Finally, an American officer said, "All right, you can see for yourself, when we pull into New York harbor tomorrow".
"Never!" they cried. "You will never pull into New York harbor. We have seen pictures of your city in ruins, and you will never let us see this destruction". It turned out that in Berlin, they had been shown photographs of what were supposed to be the bombed ruins of New York City. The Germans openly laughed at the Americans, who insisted that the city had never been bombed.
As promised, the ship approached New York City the next day, and as it pulled into the harbor, the Germans looked at the city with wonder and disbelief. One of the Americans, satisfied that the Germans must finally recognize that they had been victims of misinformation, asked, "Well, what do you think of your Dr. Goebbels now?"
Puzzled by the question, the Germans looked at the American, and one of them asked, "We don't understand. What does Dr. Goebbels have to do with this?"
The American officer replied, in exasperation, "Then why are you all staring at the skyline with such disbelief and amazement?"
Another of the Germans answered, "American ingenuity, that they could rebuild this city so quickly".
The Germans were so well programmed that they couldn't see a truth as large as New York City. Were they stupid? Not at all. They were intelligent people, but they had been so completely programmed that their brains refused to recognize the truth, even though it should have been painfully obvious to them.

A question for you: How well-programmed are you about Medicine, about Chiropractic, about other health care issues? How many things do you think you “know,” things that may really just strongly held opinions that you were programmed to have?

Something to think about. "What everybody knows," what you "always knew," may have little to no validity. This is worth thinking about. Your life, or the life of a loved one, may depend upon it.

Sciaticas, Cancer and Chiropractic in Marin

There goes that word again, forbidden to pass the lips, or the fingertips (blogging) of a "lowly" chiropractor. Undoubtedly, allopathic (medical) extremists will be running to their phones to report me to the CA Board of Chiropractic Executioners (examiners). What else is new? Those in that office, whom you think actually protect you from incompetent and unethical practice, may actually encourage incompetence and poor ethics. They certainly believe that chiropractors should be very much "in the back of the bus." They don't want us to get "uppity." They like to leave all of the "uppity" to whom they consider our (chiropractic's) betters, the medical profession. I have no doubt that they have never heard the words of Benjamin Rush, M.D., one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence: "When the practice of Medicine is restricted to one class of men, this is a fragment of the monarchy."

More important here is the restriction, not of Medicine (which I have no interest in practicing or imitating), but of the thinking about, talking about and dealing with serious, even life-threatening disease.

A lot of of Marin people think that they are "alternative." Sure, they'll go to the accupuncturist, the homeopath, the (lowly, unscientific, unserious) chiropractor, for a few visits, for little things like a touch of sciatica, a strained elbow, non-migraine headaches, a little fatigue. Real challenges, like Parkinson's, serious heart disease, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, and even the forbidden one to say.... here goes... cancer... it's a whole different story with the so-called alternative Marinites. The first hint of a "real symptom", they'll run for their specialist, who will often send them running for the hospital.

Even after the fact, after the massive treatment, if they are still alive, the typical "alternative" Marinite still has absolute faith in Medicine, no matter the failure to produce good result. They continue to keep the inconsequential stuff to the "alternative" practitioners. And they, including my lesser colleagues, go right along with it.

I, for one, do not. I do my job. I let everyone know that I correct interference to the nervous system, Vertebral Subluxation. That, VS, can degrade the function of any and every organ and system, including the heart, including the immune system, which protects us from cancers as well as infections.

I salute a very intelligent woman who began care here today. She has been challenged by two kinds of cancer. She understands the relationship of Vertebral Subluxation to a crippled immune system. She understands that this.... Chiropractic... is no guarantee, and is certainly no treatment. She gets that this is here best bet to having her body work optimally, so that it can fight the cancer its own way, as determined by her Innate Intelligence.

I call upon those who have serious, life-threatening diseases, including cancer. Come. get checked for vertebral subluxation. Get adjusted. Allow your body to fight what it must, with the experience of millenia of evolution, which is a lot smarter than the latest medical "breakthroughs."

I am here to help. I am here to save lives. (I guess that that's not sitting in the back of the bus, huh?)

Chiropractors Gone Wild

Chiropractors gone wild. Wild and crazy... in a very bad way. So bad that they are a disgrace to their profession and a threat to public health.

Half-way through the New Mexico state legislature is a new law establishing a new class of "advanced" chiropractors able to prescribe medication.

People who have no idea what Chiropractic is about, and who have the typical racist views of Chiropractic and chiropractors, will sometimes put chiropractors down by such remarks as "they can't even prescribe medication." After this comes the inevitable "They didn't go to medical school, and they aren't even real doctors!" Do dentists go to medical school? Podiatrists? Engineers? Physicists?

Who are the real doctors? Something to think about.

Why would a chiropractor ever want to prescribe medication? This would only be a chiropractor of such grotesquely low self-esteem, and esteem of his or her own profession, that there would be no real understanding of what Chiropractic actually is. If its purpose was to alleviate pain (which it is clearly not), then pain-relieving medications would be in order.

What is Chiropractic? It is the detection, analysis and correction of vertebral subluxation, allowing the body to heal, and to function at a higher level of wellness. Now, if someone could demonstrate to me that the human body was created with a deficiency of drugs, and an oversupply of organs, I might want to return to medical school. Don't hold your breath!

The fact is, chiropractors should have zero desire to prescribe medication. Those who do, are ignorant of Chiropractic's purpose, and probably incompetant in the art of Chiropractic, the chiropractic adjustment.

Then there is the public health issue. OK, these "advanced" New Mexico chiropractors my be getting a few weeks training in pharmacology. That is nothing compared to what one would receive in medical school, internship and residency. MD's already make millions of drug errors, probably hundreds of thousands having terminal consequences. How do a bunch of misguided, incompetant chiropractors come off to jump into this very dangerous pool? This is nuts!

Why would you want to get a prescription from a chiropractor? Why would you want to get an adjustment from an MD?

Let this New Mexico insanity be a lesson. Do you go to a chiropractor who is doing 47 different New Age and/or physical therapy things, never taught you about Innate Intelligence, Vertebral Subluxation, etc., never did X-rays and neurological scans nor put you on a plan of care, and can't even adjust you, who uses some weird device to vibrate your spine?

Do not expect the government to protect you, or to assure competance in any way, let alone excellence? Don't be so naive. Think for yourself. Choose straight (real), serious Chiropractic for you and your family.

The Pain of Pain Management

The 3/7 special health issue of Time Magazine writes about thes horrendous cases of pain. Sad. And sadder still is the idiotic standard medical response, lapped up by the uninformed masses.

The Time article is truly breatth-taking in its absurdity, if you read it, and then stop and think about it. With a few exceptions (like cases of amputated limbs), these are all cases of grotesque medical failure. In one case, apparently the woman with "thirteen degenerated disks" went to a chiropractor who "couldn't find anything that was misalligned. If true, this chiropractor should have his or her license and "D.C." diploma put into a shredder. Degenerated disks, part of what They refer to as "degenerative disk disease," what the chiropractor more properly refers to as subluxation degeneration, are the direct result of years and decades of serious vertebral subluxation. If a chiropractor cannot find vertebral subluxation, well, that's as crazy as a cardiologist who can't find the heart. Back to my point. Sorry I got sidetracked.

You have all these cases that Medicine, in all of its alleged scientific/technological majesty, cannot help. So, they make stronger and stronger pain medications, and then devise ways to actually fool the brain into not feeling the pain. STUPID! This is as stupid as putting a piece of duct tape over the oil light in your car's dashboard, instead of adding oil. One of the devices, magnets on te head, look like some weird thing at a New Age fair. Why not get to the cause? Yes, I know, they can't.

What damage will these pain medications do to the liver, kidneys, etc., over the years? We already know that anti-inflammatories can put a hole in your stomoach, or damage your heart to the point of death.

What damage will these electrical devices, whether aimed at the brain or the spinal cord, do to the overall neurological function? Well, if MD's cared that much about this question, they'd go back to school to become chiropractors.

Chiropractic does NOT treat pain, back or neck or otherwise. Its purpose is to correct interference to the functioning of the nervous system (the Master System), Vertebral Subluxation, allowing the body to heal.

What do you think?

Astounding (?) Medical Discovery in Marin IJ

I just love when medical doctors make me laugh! And... I know that they have no idea how funny they are!

Yesterday, the Marin IJ had a full page ad announcing some sort of union of Mt. Tam Spine Center and the UCSF Dept. of Neurosurgery, called the "Spine and Brain Institute" of Marin General Hospital. The headline? "Our experts have your back. (And your brain.)"

Their big discovery? It seems that They (sic) are on the verge of figuring out the the spine actually effects the brain and the nervous system. They seem to be on the verge of saying that structure effects function. AMAZING!

But, those in the know (those under straight, wellness chiropractic care) know that the Founder of Chiropractic, Dr. D.D. Palmer, figured this out 115 years ago.

So, IN REALITY, whose on the cutting edge, and who has been out of it for over a century, attacking those who are on the cutting edge?

Got sense? Wanna be healthy? Get adjusted. Good advice whether you have back pain, or not. Whether you consider yourself healthy, or sick. Everyone needs a brain and a nervous system working as close to 100% as possible.

Don Harte, D.C.

PS: WARNING: Realize that these folks in the ad, this program, is, at its heart, a surgical game. In most all cases, having spinal surgery is a VERY poor choice. Most end up worse. Some MUCH worse.

International Women's Day and Chiropractic

Yesterday was International Women's Day.

So, let's talk about women's health. As a rule, the standard excuse for any female health problem is "it's hormonal." Even if it is, so? Hormones are produced by glands, which are under the control of the nervous system. If they get the wrong message, due to interference in communication (Vertebral Subluxation), there will be hormonal imbalance. Why not remove the interference? Why not? This is what chiropractic adjustments do.

Now I am going to touch the "third rail" for any profession that is not Medicine... cancer. (Right away, the anti-chiropractic extremists are off "reporting me" for claiming that I, or Chiropractic, cures cancer. What nonsense. As a straight chiropractor, I fully understand, and teach, that I do not cure anything, not even a bachache.) The breasts, the ovaries, the uterus... all parts of the female body, all controlled and coordinated by the nervous system, as is the immune system, which protects us against cancer as well as infection. But what if there is interference? What if that interference is corrected through chiropractic adjustment?

You trust Medicine, ladies? What about the 40 year "oops" that was HRT, hormone replacement therapy? It was standard medical care, touted as preventative for heart attack, cancer, strokes. Oops. Truns out it caused those! The study came out in 2002. I have been telling women this for 30 years, well before the study. How did I know? A basic knowledge and appreciation for biological law.

Chronic Disease and Chiropractic

Let's begin with the really sad stuff. Many chiropractors, debasing themselves to the level of third-rate medical back doctors, have nothing to do with chronic disease. If they want to get exotic, they'll treat headaches. Of course, a real (straight) chiropractor doesn't "treat" anything. He or she removes interference, allowing the body to heal.

There is so much chronic disease today.... diabetes, heart disease, prostate problems, asthma, depression, low thyroid, neurodegenerative diseases, fibromyalgia... Medical patients are told "learn to live with it, and take these pills forever."

What if you could do better? Just considering that is a stretch for many people. Well, people do "better" here all the time. Remove interference, and all is possible.

Health Nazis: Will You Stand up?

"If people let government decide what foods they eat and what medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as are the souls of those who live under tyranny."
"It is error alone which needs the protection of government. The truth stands on its own."
                                                                                              - Thomas Jefferson

Just a couple of weeks ago, the Supreme Court took a huge step towards destroying your health freedom. They effectively shielded vaccine manufacturers from liability, and left the way open for your government, at various levels, to force more and more vaccinations upon us, as adults, and upon our children. Maybe you think that "They" know what's good for you. Maybe you should have the opportunity to decide.

Already, since the 1980's Congress has shielded Big Pharma from vaccine suits, to a great extent. It has only gotten worse now, much worse. This is on top of all the federal and state and local health regulations, with their corrupt agencies like the FDA.

Mass, serial vaccination is causing a horrific health care crisis, which will get worse by magnitudes in coming generations. It is not the universal savior of mankind from the scourge of disease, as is commonly believed.

I have written extensively about the dangers of vaccinations, for both children and adults. I will not go into it here.

As much as I believe in the vitalistic prinicple of Chiropractic, I believe in freedom. If you want to be vaccinated, be my guest. If you don't, Big Brother has no right to force you to vaccinate yourself or your child. And Big Brother, in a nation of laws, has no right to prohibit you from seeking legal redress in case of injury from vaccination.

Could you envision a day when They force you to take anti-depressants, so everyone will be happy? Maybe They will put it in the water.

Chiropractic makes total sense. Remove interference to the nervous system, and the body works better. Simple. But if I were Big Brother, I wouldn't force Chiropractic upon anyone.
