"The school is public. The child is not." - BJ Palmer, D.C., Ph.C.
It has long been a disgrace the extent to which the California "philosophical" vaccine exemption has been a well-kept secret. Otherwise intelligent, well-informed parents have been led to accept the lie of "No shots, no school." The law itself calls vaccination "mandatory," while is provides for this exemption. A parent will not find the exemption form with all the dozens of things on the counters and wall of the schools. A parent has to ask for the form, which is kept out of sight.
Now, our legislators are looking to gut even this semi-hidden parental choice. AB 2109 will force parents, looking to save their child from the dangers of some or all vaccinations, to spend money and time to go to the pediatrician. (Not every parent has a regular pediatrician. My wife and I didn't see any need for a pediatrician for our son. I adjusted him from birth. Did my son get any shot? No!!!!!!!! Not a one!)
At the pediatrician's office (if this bill goes through), the parent is to be "educated." The obvious intent is for the parent to be intimidated. At the very least, the parent will be inundated with inaccurate medical BS. Then, what if the pediatrician then refuses to sign?
Vaccination is not based upon science. It is based upon cultural norms based upon the deification of the medical profession and the grotesque avarice of Big Pharma, no matter what the price in sick and dead children.
You want protection against diseases for your children? That's what the immune system is for. Get your children adjusted, making sure that there is no interference to the nervous system running the immune system.
Whether a parent wants his or her children to be vaccinated, it is the choice of the parent, NOT the state.

A Great Man Passes, by Dr Harte, Corte Madera chiropractor
A great man just passed away, off to that great Adjustatorium in the sky. Reginald Gold, D.C., known and loved by principled chiropractors, worldwide, simply as "Reggie."
Reggie was little known outside of the profession. (In fact, he was little known by the, sadly, huge segment of the profession who have abandoned principles in a vain search for societal acceptance.) It strikes me as odd who is so well known in our society, and so publicly mourned... Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, etc. Yes, they had their musical talents, and they entertained us. But they never saved anyone's life. No one's life would have been different if they never existed. And what kind of example were they? They were all drug addicts, that died as a result of their own vile habits. They were not heroes in any sense of the word.
Reggie, on the other hand, saved uncounted tens of thousands of lives over decades. How? First, he was a chiropractor. He was a real chiropractor, a straight chiropractor, who knew that his sole purpose was to detect, analyze and correct vertebral subluxation, THE #1 threat to health. This makes the chiropractic adjustment THE #1 best thing that you can do for health. He understood that health does NOT come from Outside-in, like drugs and surgery. He understood that health comes only from Above-down, Inside-out. He began his practice in, I believe, the early 60's, in Spring Valley, New York, back when Chiropractic was illegal in the State of New York.
Reggie taught Chiropractic Philosophy at my alma mater, New York Chiropractic College, until they decided to go down the allopathic, medically-oriented road. They wanted him to still be on the faculty list so that they could use his name. They just didn't want him to teach the real word of Chiropractic anymore. he quit. Over time, Reggie was banned from many chiropractic colleges, so he spoke off-campus, and the students came. That is how my wife and I first heard him, back in 1977. At the time, he had long hair, huge mutton chop sideburns, and he wore turquoise jewelry all over. For my birthday that followed, my wife got me a big, clunky Reggie turquoise bracelet, which I wear to this day.
You have read my reports and thoughts over the damage that the chiropractic colleges have done, and especially the damage done by our accrediting agency, the CCE, the Council on Chiropractic Accreditation. We call it the Council on Chiropractic Elimination. Three decades ago, Reggie founded his own chiropractic college and a new chiropractic accrediting agency. Eventually, they were both crushed by the powers that be. But that effort serves as an example in courage, and example that we straight, principled chiropractors follow today in combating the CCE and various other destructive, fraudulent forces.
Over the decades, thousands of lay people and chiropractors have heard the message of Reggie, that the Power that made the body heals the body, and that everyone... anyone is always better off with less or no vertebral subluxation. He always challenges people to bring in their kids and their grandkids so that their light can be turned on.
Reggie has taught and inspired thousands of chiropractors, including myself. What those chiropractors have taught others, and what those chiropractors have done for others in terms of correcting vertebral subluxation, have improved millions of lives, and undoubtedly saved tens of thousands.
Reggie has made his mark upon the chiropractic profession, and thus, upon the course of humanity. He was a true hero to humanity. His love, his dedication, his passion to serve, will always be in my heart. I will do my best to honor his memory by, every single day, being the best chiropractor that I can be, and by helping my fellow chiropractors to do the same.
G-d bless you, Reggie.

Baby's First Adjustment by Corte Madera chiropractor Dr Harte
I have often been asked, “When, at what age, should
chiropractic care begin?” A good question!
Some people are shocked at the idea of chiropractic care for
children. Even some of my (very much) lesser colleagues might think or even
say, “What do kids need adjustments for? They don’t have backaches.” Well, some
kids do, but not typically. Anyway, this misses the point. Chiropractic is
about health, about the full expression of
Life… important for everyone… critical for children. Anyone
and everyone with a spine, a nervous system and life force needs to be checked
for interference to the nervous system, what is called Vertebral Subluxation
Complex, or VSC.
What is VSC? It is a misalignment/dysfunction of a vertebra
from the one above or below, causing an interference to the function of the
nervous system. Most subluxations do NOT involve pain, but every subluxation
takes away from the full expression of life.
So, let’s rephrase the question: At what age should
anyone/everyone be checked for Vertebral Subluxation Complex (VSC)? Once you
become aware of its full health implications, that VSC is THE most serious
health risk factor, then the answer is obvious… as soon as one might acquire
VSC. When is that?
The birth process, as tough as it
is for mom, is tougher, and considerably more dangerous for baby. Abraham Towbin, M.D. found that sudden infant crib death
caused by spinal damage to the nervous system (VSC) during the birth process.
He noted that 7 of 8 autopsies showed this to be the cause of death in SIDS
victims. David Yashon, M.D. confirmed Towbin's findings, and reports that the
delivery process is a cause of spinal injury with nerve damage, resulting
in 10% of infant death. G. Gutmann,
M.D. writes that 80% of the children that he examined shortly after birth, or
as infants, were suffering from subluxation of the atlas, the first bone in the
neck, causing all manner of diseases. Larry Webster, D.C. declares
“Chiropractic care must begin at birth.” He notes that the average pull today
(from medical childbirth) is between 90 and 140 lbs. The spine can be stretched 1/2" before injury. The spinal cord can be stretched 2 1/4"
before injury. A study entitled "Immediate Management of the Traumatized
Infant" says "Birth trauma was, nonetheless, the sixth leading cause
of neonatal mortality in the United States in 1981." "It is still
true that the most dangerous journey some people will ever undertake is that
from the womb to the outside world."
Yes, the birth process is generally THE first gross insult
to your baby’s nervous system, to your baby’s health… Vertebral Subluxation
Complex. Not only do you want your child to be healthy now; you want him or her
to grow up expressing his or her genetic potential… physically, mentally and socially.
This is why EVERY child should be checked by a straight chiropractor for
Vertebral Subluxation Complex, right at birth if possible.

Chiropractic Transvestites by Corte Madera chiropractor Dr Harte
Last weekend, I attended one of those awful "continuing education" seminars, ordered by the Board.
A lot of people have been fooled into thinking that various government licensing boards exist to protect the public from fraud and to improve the quality of care from individual practitioners. No. This is merely a dance.
I will speak of my own profession, though I suspect that this is the case within others. The chiropractic board has no grand plan of excellence. Yes, they do get rid of the occasional sexual predator or drug addict. But the Board serves its own power, as is typical of government agencies. Changes of requirements and regulations are often not clear and often not disseminated properly. it is almost as if they want chiropractors to mess up, so that they can be prosecuted.
I had my own long war with them, which led to me being named WCA "Chiropractor of the Year" in 2006, and led to me becoming known within the profession as the "Chiropractic Avenger." But that story is for another time.
Let's get back to fraud. It seems that rather than taking action against fraud, what seminars that are approved by the Board appear to encourage fraud. How?
This seminar last weekend was a pseudo-medical orgy. I was shocked to see and hear the teaching of diagnosing of various kinds of cancers and other diseases from X-rays, and various physical therapy taping pf extremities as would be done by a physical therapist or a trainer.
What was the one word that was not mentioned during the whole seminar? Subluxation. This is the one thing that Chiropractic is supposed to be about... the detection, analysis and correction of subluxation. This seminar was designed for the chiropractor who yearns to be a "primary care provider," which means that he or she wants to take the place of the GP or medical internist. Yes, this is why I used the term "Chiropractic Transvestites." They want to dress up as something that they are not. Hey, whatever people want to do socially, as long as they don't push it on anyone else, fine. But a chiropractor playing this game, in my opinion, is passing into fraudulent territory. In some other states, the wildly medical fringe chiropractors have been pushing for prescription rights. Some chiropractic schools have dropped the word "chiropractic" from their names, and do not teach subluxation.
If a chiropractor does not accept the vitalistic philosophy of healing and health from Above-down, Inside-out, he or she should get out. If he or she wants to diagnose and treat like a medical doctor, act as a "primary care provider," then he or she should go to medical school. That would be the right thing to do. Dressing up is not the way to go.
I left med school to become a chiropractor, after a chiropractor saved my life. That's why I dedicate my life, every day, to save lives through Chiropractic. Understand that I am offended by fakes in my ranks. You, as health care consumers, should not tolerate fakes either.

Most Important Chiropractic Patient* by Dr Harte, Corte Madera
Understanding that real Chiropractic is about expressing
Life (contrary to common belief), the answer to “who is the most important
chiropractic patient” becomes obvious… the pregnant woman.
Why? Well, there is some credence to concern about the
increased strain on mom’s spine involved with pregnancy. Backaches and some
general discomfort during pregnancy? Sure, this is pretty common. Does
chiropractic care help with this? Sure, but this is not the point of chiropractic
care. It has long been noted that pregnant women under chiropractic care
usually have an easier time of labor and delivery. But that, too, is not the
point of Chiropractic.
What is going on inside you when you are pregnant? What is
going on is nothing short of miraculous, not to be downplayed as some mundane
medical process. First, there is the union of the sperm and the egg, at the
exclusion of all the millions of other sperm cells. (I know that you know this
part at least, but I ask you to think on it.) The one fertilized egg divides
and becomes two cells. I still remember that moment, long ago in college, in
embryology lab. The subject was frog eggs, since they fertilize externally, and
they are big enough to be seen under a dissecting scope, which is a very low
power microscope. I poured the frog sperm on the frog egg, and then I waited.
That moment when one egg enlarged, and then became two… amazing!
The two cells become four, sixteen, and so on, until a point
in which cells, originally identical, begin to differentiate and migrate. The
first thing to develop is the primitive streak, the progenitor of the nervous
system. Yes, the nervous system is there right from the beginning, to control
and coordinate the development of every other system. In about nine months,
without any direction from the outside (including the obstetrician), you have a
perfectly formed and functioning baby, unless there is interference.
Have you figured it out yet? The reason why THE most
important chiropractic patient is the pregnant woman? Well, your health
determines your baby’s health, and THE #1 determinant of your health is a
nervous system free of interference, allowing you to express life as close to
100% as possible.
Yes, I know, as a pregnant woman it seems like you have to
suffer from advice from every quarter, even total strangers. But do take care
of your nervous system. It is the most critical determinant of your health and
your baby’s health.

Cancer Rats, as seen by Corte Madera chiropractor Dr Harte
My wife's cousin just passed away from cancer. His family bragged that they got free care for being part of an experimental program. It seems that part of the agreement involved what happens to the body. I don't know about you, but this strikes me as Medicine using sick people like lab rats.
The family said that he (the cousin who just passed) was happy to be part of this experiment, "so that they might find a cure, and others might live." Admirable, but naive. How long have They been searching for The Cure, while making billions of dollars, while, in most cases, having little good effect and much bad effect?
The Cure? For cancer, like everything else, the cure is within. The medical anti-scientific fantasy is that The Cure (I am being respectful, since I capitalize their "Cure") is to be found outside the body. For Medicine, it is always Outside-in... drugs...in, surgery... in. It is never possible to find the right answer if you ask the wrong question. Cancer is a failure of the immune system. The immune system, like every system, is run by the nervous system. If there is interference to this running, it becomes impossible for the immune system to function normally. Why not restore function to the system that is supposed to protect us from cancer?
It continues to amaze me how these medical people hold out hope with various cockamamie new treatments. And then, after people die, somehow the families are grateful. I don't get it.
Oh, for those crazies who look to turn chiropractors in for whatever, please note: Chiropractic is NOT a cure for cancer. Chiropractic isn't a cure for anything. A straight chiropractor simply corrects interference, allowing the body to function at a higher level. Simple. And it doesn't take billions of dollars either.

"Stopping Aging?" by Corte Madera chiropractor Dr Harte
I have a large bulletin board in the reception room with photos of practice members. All happy faces. The problem, though, is that all of the photos are old, like six or seven years old.
I was looking at the photos a couple of weeks ago. One thing that stood out is that the older folks who are still coming here (wellness care) after those six or seven years, look no older. The older folks who stopped care, who I see occasionally on the street, look VERY much older. They look very much sick, in pain, difficulty walking, altogether a sad picture.
No, this is not a scientific study. It's just an observation. But it is something to think about. Free you nervous system, and you will live better, including aging better. It just makes sense.

The ALWAYS SICK Child by Corte Madera chiropractor Dr Harte
Does it seem like you’re always at the
pediatrician’s? Is your child sick almost constantly… colds, flu, earaches,
sore throats?
I understand. That was me as a child, back in the 50’s. I’d
get colds that just about ran into one another, most of the year. I’d get
terrible earaches, once so bad that I thought that I was going to die. I
remember asking my mother to bring me my pet turtle, “Mickey,” so I could say
goodbye to him. I had bad digestion, from top to bottom. I was taken to one
gastro-enterologist after another, and had many, many “G-I” X-ray series. (It’s
a wonder I’m not dead from all of that very serious radiation exposure.)
Strep throat was the most constant of my childhood
sicknesses. My mother took me to the doctor. I took the antibiotics, the strep
throat went away, and then it came back in a week or two.
Tonsils used to be the culprit, but that operation has been
discredited. Then came the tubes in the ears. That has fallen by the wayside
too. Popular antibiotics come and go, getting ever stronger and more risky as
the years go by. I know. You’re told that they are safe and effective. Better
look them up yourself.
I’ve looked on the net to see the latest that the
pediatricians have to offer, at least as an explanation. It’s the same old
stuff… wash your hands, and “germs are everywhere.” OK, it’s good to wash your
hands, but not overly so. All these germicidal soaps end up producing more
dangerous bacteria, and some are suspected of being carcinogenic. You are your kids
do not need more weird chemicals in your environment.
I’ve seen a lot of natural remedies talked about on various
blogs, to help kids who are always sick. Most if not all are safer than
antibiotics, but they are not the answer. Why? They are remedies… treatments.
They are designed to “stimulate” or “support” the immune system. What about if
a child’s immune system is over-stimulated? Then you get into auto-immune
diseases like asthma, Type I diabetes, eczema, etc. So, what to do?
Your “always sick” child needs to get checked for vertebral
subluxation, interference to his or her nervous system. Why? Because the
nervous system controls and coordinates every cell, tissue, organ and system in
the body, and adapts that body to the environment. This includes the immune
system. “Adapting to the environment?” That includes whatever “is going
around.” You get your child checked for vertebral subluxation, and corrected
for vertebral subluxation, by a straight chiropractor. (A straight chiropractor
is the real thing, from both a historical and philosophical basis. He or she is
not concerned with back pain. He or she is concerned with the body expressing
as much life force as possible.)
Bottom line? Kids that come to see me barely ever get sick.
When my son was in grade school and everybody else had colds, flu, coughing,
sneezing, he wouldn’t get sick. At worst, he’d feel a little off and say
“Daddy, please adjust me.” Twenty minutes later he’d be better.
Chiropractic does not fight disease. It allows the body to
express more health, more life.
