Fakery vs. Common Sense

Just stepping back from "what everyone knows" about this disease or that, about so-called health care, in general, will reveal the foolishness of it all. While Medicine is the thing for life-saving emergency care, it has nothing to do with health.

Check out this video, and then, sit down and think.

Medical Nazis at College by Corte Madera chiropractor Dr Harte

One of my very favorite Practice Members came in quite upset the other day. Her son is just beginning college. They are insisting upon him having a booster shot of MMR, measles, mumps and rubella.

These three diseases are what used to be known as "childhood disease." When I was growing up in the 50's, virtually every kid I knew got these diseases. NOBODY DIED. NOBODY EVER HEARD OF ANYONE DYING. Yet, the "medical authorities" tell us that these are deadly diseases, and that these vaccines save lives. Well, anyone who grew up before these vaccines (probably age 50+), if he or she thinks back, knows the truth. So, if they're lying about this...

Then, there's the issue if the vaccine is effective. Then, there's the issue of whether all of these booster shots are necessary. Then, there's the issue of whether serial vaccination is safe. How can injecting, over and over, neurotoxins including mercury, aluminum and formaldehyde, into children, or adults, be safe?

Then there's the issue of one's philosophy. Medicine believes in "Outside-in," which is why they insist you need help from the outside in the form of vaccines. In Chiropractic, we understand that health and healing comes from Above-down, Inside-out. A fundamental difference of opinion.

Kids, and their parents, get pounded with vaccine demands from pediatricians and schools and government agencies. Now, due to the plight of this very worried mother, I am reminded that this medical Nazism continues even in college.

As the concept of liberty becomes more and more remote in society, Big Brother in a White Coat gets bigger and bigger, and, of course, far more dangerous.

One More Dumb Attack

This past weekend, I was happily spreading the word about health through Chiropractic, screening people for subluxation in front of a post office.

This woman loudly yells "Don't let him touch you! This is a scam. Chiropractors have no science. They hardly go to school." On the way out of the post office, she went off again, as I was palpating (manually looking for misalignment) a woman's neck: "That's the worst. Chiropractic manipulation of the neck causes strokes." I asked her what makes her so nasty and so uneducated. She glared at me.(Maybe there is a time and place for psych meds.)

Why such hatred? And why such ignorance?

Chiro school is as long as med school. Same basic sciences... anatomy, histology, physiology, etc. Different clinical studies, of course.

The claim that Chiropractic is at all dangerous is laughable. See my article that I wrote some years ago in the SF Chronicle. "Where is the Danger in Chiropractic?" The short answer? There isn't any. And the charge coming from a profession as dangerous as Medicine, that's even more ridiculous. Pure cultism on the part of medical fanatics.

To say that Chiropractic is unscientific is to be ignorant of basic biology. The nerve system runs everything... every system, every organ, every tissue, every cell in the body, and relates all these to each other, for the good of the whole. Fact. If there exists interference with this control and communication, Vertebral Subluxation, then things cannot function properly, and health suffers. When subluxation is corrected by chiropractic adjustment, health improves. Simple. To rail against basic biological law labels one just plain dumb.

I must wonder how subluxated that woman is?

Medical Fantasy in the Media by Corte Madera chiropractor Dr Harte

I've been enjoying  the "ME TV" station lately. It features stuff from the 60's and 70's. One of the shows I have been watching is "The Fugitive," in all its gritty black-and-white glory.

For those who don't know the story line of the show (or the far more recent movie of the same name with Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones), Dr. Richard Kimble is wrongly convicted of the murder of his wife, and sentenced to death. When the train to the prison is derailed, he escapes, and is on the run, all the time searching for the one-armed man that he saw kill his wife. Along the way, he takes various menial jobs to stay alive.

A strong undercurrent in this series (and the movie) is Dr. Kimble's extreme results and passion as a medical doctor, even when on the run. In one that I saw last week, which took place on the Santa Monica pier, Dr. Kimble was hired as a caretaker for a man (played by Robert Duvall) who hadn't moved a limb in years. Though the character played by Duvall was as miserable as could be, and as hopeless as could be, Dr. Kimble cared, and got him to walk again. In the movie, with the U.S. Marshals hot on his tail, he sneeks into this Chicago hospital, dressed as an orderly, to look up records to try to find his "one-armed man." In the midst of this, he is asked by a nurse to take a young boy, in obvious respiratory distress, to some part of the hospital. Dr. Kimble sneeks a look at the kid's X-rays, remarks the chart, gets the kid into emergency surgery, saving his life.

I remember when I was seven or eight years old, watching other "heroic" medical shows, "Ben Casey" and "Dr. Kildaire." There I was, on the floor with a notebook, a Merck Manual and a medical dictionary. This is why my first path was to be a medical doctor.

How much has society as a whole been lead down this path to the "infallibility of Medicine?" Miracle after miracle. And if they don't yet have "The Cure," give them a few more billion, and "the cure is right around the corner." Isn't that why people run for this disease and walk for that disease?

What about the media fantasy of the passion of the medical doctor, as exemplified by Dr's Casey, Kildaire and Kimble? No, it's a lot of cookbook stuff, pulled this way and that by perks from the pharmaceutical companies, and endless, stupid government regulations. How passionate do you think that the M.D.'s will be if and when they are reduced to government bureaucrats? Lotsa luck!

In the real world, despite the weird prejudices and expectations of society, it is the authentic chiropractor who gets the "miracle" results. It is the chiropractor who is full of passion. This is passion to allow Innate Intelligence to express itself more fully, in more and more people, until, over time, with better, more fully functioning people, we will have a better community, state, nation... world! Over time, this will lead to a greater unfolding of the genetic potential of the human race. This is the Big Vision of Chiropractic! Forget the medical fantasy. See, experience and talk up the chiropractic reality.

"Are Chiropractors Smarter than MD's" asks Corte Madera Chiropractor Dr Harte

“Any living cell carries with it the experience of a billion years of experimentation by its ancestors.”

-            Max Delbruck
Physicist/Biologist

The answer to this question is simple, but it may take a bit of effort for that answer to penetrate how you really think and feel.

Chiropractors are smarter than medical doctors. Why? Because they know and appreciate what they don’t know. In the semi-mythical words of Clint Eastwood in the San Francisco cop movie, “Magnum Force,” “A man’s got to know his limitations.”

In Medicine, in medical thinking, both in and out of the profession, there are no limits. For every incurable disease (which is virtually all of them except those that are self-limiting), there is the holy “search for the cure.” They ask for billions to find what they are looking for in a few years, what they promised to find years ago. There are "breakthroughs," where they feel like they are really getting a handle on some disease process, and what to do about it. But it never really is a breakthrough. It is quite true, what I was taught in chiropractic college: "The wonder drug of today will be the blunder drug of tomorrow." And they continue to stumble from one fad to another. They marvel at their own mastery of nature, and ask you to do the same.

Chiropractors marvel at the wonder of Nature, of Life. We understand that we can never understand everything about these very complex processes. And we certainly understand that we cannot direct them to our whims. There is an Innate Intelligence that directs Life, from conception to death. Any interference with the expression of that Innate Intelligence takes away from the expression of Life. This creates dis-ease, which eventually leads to disease. We chiropractors know what we don't know. We correct interference, and get out of the way.

“We chiropractors work with the subtle substance of the soul. We release the imprisoned impulse, the tiny rivulets of force, that eminates from the mind and flows over the nerves to cells and stirs them into life. We deal with the majestic power that transforms common food into living, loving, thinking clay; that robes the earth with beauty and hues and scents the flowers with the glory of the air.

In the dim, dark, distant long-ago, when the sun first bowed to the morning star, this power spoke that there was life; it quickened the slime of the seas and the dust of the earth and drove the cell to union with its fellows and countless living forms. Through eons of time, it finned the fish and winged the bird and fanged the beast. Endlessly, it worked, evolving its form until it produced the crowning glory of them all. With tireless energy, it blows the bubble of each individual life, and then, silently, relentlessly dissolves the form and absorbs the spirit into itself again.

And yet, you ask, ‘Can chiropractors cure appendicitis or the flu?’ Have you more faith in a spoonful of medicine than in the power that animates the living world."

Government, Medicine and Chiropractic by Corte Madera chiropractor Dr Harte

I have long referred to the PMG (Pharmaceutical-Medical-Governmental) Complex, the far-reaching power structure that controls more and more of our lives. Each facet provides support (and cover) for the others.

For those with implicit trust in whatever are the latest medical fads, and in what is "accepted by everyone," you will believe that "They" know what's best. Lotsa luck!

Come on! Big Pharma buys both political parties. Medicine, once in a high, exalted place in society, is now semi-owned by Big Pharma. It is, of course, the biggest drug pusher, so the two have to support each other. Where it gets sleazy, in my opinion, is government involvement in all this.

Government supports Big Pharma in many ways. It buys, directly, huge amounts of medications, including vaccinations. Indirectly, its funding of government health programs buys far more pharmaceuticals. Government, through such agencies as the CDC and NIH support basic science research, and clinical research, culminating directly in new medications to be manufactured by Big Pharma. These new meds are, of course approved by the FDA. Just so you know, the FDA has no testing facilities. They rely upon the test results provided them by the drug manufacturers. FDA personnel comes from Big Pharma, and returns to Big Pharma... all very incestuous. Big Pharma supports med schools and large medical facilities, so they buy those particular brands. And government supports and regulates med schools and hospitals. Huge amounts of money. And government protects various aspects of Medicine and Big Pharma, notably holding them harmless from the destruction and death caused by vaccinations.

All the while, the three parts of these cabal plot to increase its control over our daily lives. They want us to believe that They know better. Local, state and federal public health agencies do this, with help from the legislatures.

What does Chiropractic get from the government? Nothing... nada... bupkes. No millions and billions in support and for research. But we do get regulation and oppression... plenty of oppression. You see, Chiropractic is not part of the PMG, nor would we want to be. We just want to serve the public by correcting THE #1 interference to health... Vertebral Subluxation Complex..

Oppression from the PMG? Chiropractic gets plenty, from the oppression of chiropractic colleges, to the lack of respect within the court system, to regulatory boards. Seen my 2006 "Chiropractor of the Year" award? That was for valor in fighting against the anti-chiropractic chiropractic board of California. Yes, the board members are chiropractors (sort of), but they are solidly with the PMG, happy to relegate Chiropractic in this state to rub-a-dub on bad backs and necks. They came after me for daring to tell the truth about what Chiropractic is and what it has to offer for people. It was a three year battle, after which their "special investigator" fled the state. They still come at me and other principled chiropractors, from time to time.

So, if you appreciate Chiropractic, and you think that government should have more power running the "health care" show, you might be harboring a conflict of values. Hey, I think that everyone should be under chiropractic care from birth to death. But I would never want the government to force that upon anyone. Shouldn't there be choice... liberty... in your health care decisions?

Wellness, by Corte Madera Chiropractor Dr Harte

The PMG (Pharmaceutical-Medical-Governmental) Complex has stolen the word, and the concept, “WELLNESS.” Wellness is kind of an updated version of the concept of good health, or the more popular “healthy lifestyle.” All the while, Kaiser Permanente, in their endless ads, insists that it will help you “thrive.” Lotsa luck!

What does Medicine have to offer in the way of health or wellness? NOTHING. I am not saying that there is no place for Medicine, nor am I saying that Medicine is populated by bad people. What I am bringing out to you is that the purpose, the intent, of Medicine is NOT health, though it is commonly referred to as “health care.” Medicine is, by definition, the diagnosis and treatment of disease. They define and attack the disease, which has nothing to do with achieving wellness.

Realize that everything Medicine does, essentially drugs and surgery, is “Outside-in.” If we were born with a DEFICIENCY OF DRUGS AND AN EXCESS OF ORGANS, this process would achieve health. Alas, this is not to be. Being brutally honest, there is nothing in Medicine that promotes wellness.

Wellness, or “the healthy lifestyle,” if you prefer, is based upon healing, and function, from Above-down, Inside-out. People talk about the body’s ability to heal itself. Harvard book-writing M.D.’s like Deepak Chopra and Andrew Weil have become celebrities spouting this as revelation. Chiropractors have been saying this since 1895.

Want wellness? Eat well, exercise, rest well and maintain a healthy mental attitude. MOST IMPORTANTLY? Achieve and maintain a healthy brain and nervous system, as free as possible from interference… subluxation… so that they can control and coordinate every cell, tissue, organ and system in the body for the benefit of the whole. THIS IS CHIROPRACTIC.

You might say that so-and-so is healthy. Well, they may not be obviously sick. But if they are subluxated, by definition, they are not healthy. They are not well.

Regular lifetime chiropractic care is THE most important factor in Wellness.

Dr Harte talks Real Health Care in the New Year

"Medicine concerns itself with disease and how men die. Chiropractic concerns itself with health, and why men live."  - Clarence Gonstead, D.C.

Had enough yet? If you're not disgusted by the state of so-called health care, you're not paying attention. No, it's not for lack of money. The USA is #1 in health care spending, yet #49 in life expectancy (down from #29 in 1999). No, it's not from "lack of access." Often, the more medical care that one gets, the sicker one gets. Why?

Please read, again, the quote above. Realize that Medicine is the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Their intentions may be good, but the focus is disease, not health. you cannot get healthy by fighting disease, even by "prevention." Health is NOT from drugs or surgeries. As I have said before, if that were true, then the people who take the most drugs and who have had the most surgeries would be the healthiest. Feh.

The focus of Chiropractic is health. (No, the focus of Chiropractic is NOT backaches.) Your brain and nervous system runs every cell, tissue, organ and system in the body. Any interference will alter normal function. The most common interference is Vertebral Subluxation Complex (VSC). Chiropractors do not diagnose, nor do we treat. We correct interference to the nervous system, VSC, allowing the body to function at a higher level. No gimmicks. No breakthroughs that will become fodder for late night TV ads for lawyers doing class action suits. I was taught in school, "The wonder drug of today will be the blunder drug of tomorrow." Yes, this is true.

So, don't you think that real health care should help you to attain health? You'll never get there by chasing symptoms. You'll get there by allowing the body to function properly, without interference.

"Is Medicine a Rip-Off?" asks Corte Madera chiropractor Dr Harte

A new Practice Member of mine, who just started, suffered a rear-end collision last month. No fractures, no blood and guts. But enough for her car to be totaled. Enough for her to be massively subluxated. Currently, she is in a great deal of pain. If these subluxations are left uncorrected, she very likely will suffer chronic pain and a variety of visceral complaints. Yes, she will likely get chronically sick from those subluxations sustained in that rear-ender. And, after some years, her spine will quickly advance into serious Subluxation Degeneration, what other people might call spinal arthritis. The medical folks will never understand this. There really is no place for them here.

Yet, before she came to me, because of her pain, she went to the emergency room, on two occasions. Nothing fancy was done, no MRI's, etc. In fact, nothing was done for her that had any value whatsoever. The bill for these two visits? Over $8,000, DISCOUNTED because she had no insurance. THIS IS ROBBERY. It is a disgrace!

And yet some people will bitch and moan over the $87 charge for an adjustment visit here. Here, in the Land of Straight Chiropractic, we deal with CAUSE. I correct CAUSE. this allows the body to heal itself. This is the only true healing.

Whatever chiropractic care ends up to cost, that cost is a joke compared to medical care. (Do you still think it's free because it's covered by your insurance? Does that insurance come from the sky?)

The detection, analysis and correction of Vertebral Subluxation Complex (VSC), which IS Chiropractic, is life-changing, even life-saving. If chiropractic care, freeing the body to function properly for a particular person, prevents a stroke eight years from now, or enables someone to dump their very dangerous psychiatric drugs, or finally get some sleep, or ends twenty-seven years of migraines, or enables a child to reach his or her genetic potential, WHAT IS THAT WORTH?

What do you think?

Medicine vs. Chiropractic? You might check out the very telling story on my website.

Competition in Health Care from Dr Harte with Help from Dr Palmer

"PROGRESS AND INVENTION ARE THE FRUITS OF COMPETITION.

"We could not have progressed in politics if one political party had dominated all politics.

"We could not have progressed in religious tolerance if one religion had dominated all religions.

"We could not have progressed in transportation if one method of transportation had dominated all transportation.

"We could not have progressed in communication if one method of communication had dominated all communication.

"How, therefore, can we progress in health matters when competition is stifled and we are dominated by one theory of healing?

The need for competition to progress in the healing arts was recognized years ago by Benjamin Rush, M.D., signer of the Declaration of Independence, when he said 'The Constitution of this Republic should make special provision for Medical Freedom. To restrict the art of healing to one class will constitute the bastille of medical science. All such laws are un-American and despotic.'"

- B. J. Palmer, D.C., Ph.C. "The Developer of Chiropractic"
p. 239 of Chiropractic Philosophy, Science and Art, Vol. XXXII of the "Green Books," 1955

NOTE from Dr Harte:

Read this again, and think on it. People should have the unfettered right to choose between Chiropractic, Medicine, anything else, or any combination thereof. The government should give no advantage to Medicine, which is does... profusely. Certainly the government should not force Medicine and medical procedures upon people, as they do with vaccinations.

Diabetics and Chiropractic according to Dr Harte, Marin Chiropractor

Should diabetics be under chiropractic care? You betcha! Does diabetes have anything to do with back pain? No.

Diabetes? What is referred to commonly as diabetes is more properly called diabetes mellitus, as opposed ti diabetes insipidus, which is a disorder of the pituitary primarily. We will concern ourselves here with diabetes mellitus. Of that, there are two types, Type I, previously known as juvenile diabetes, and Type II, previously known as adult onset diabetes. Let's focus on Type II.

This is a low-functioning of the blood sugar-regulating portion of the pancreas, the Islets of Langerhans. There is not enough insulin produced, so that the level of blood glucose is not adequately controlled. A basic piece of metabolism is out of whack. Diabetes effects the circulatory system, the liver the adrenals, specifically, even disturbing metabolism down to the cellular level. It is considered one of the major killers. It can lead to blindness or loss of lower limbs. I could say that it was the disease that took my father at an early age, but his death was really due to the medical treatment of his diabetes. For sure, he is not the only one.

The medical answer to diabetes? They prescribe drugs to beat the weakened pancreas into producing more insulin, which, of course, weakens it further. The latest diabetes "blockbuster" drug, Avandia, after killing thousands by heart attack and heart disease, is now in the hands of the lawyers. Is the diabetes ever fixed, cured, healed? No. Diabetics are instructed "to live with it." This is typical medical Outside-in thinking. They, the M.D.'s, will treat you (or rather your disease) from the outside, in, with drugs, in. There is no restoration or improvement in the specific function (blood sugar regulation), nor generally, in health. There is no getting to the cause; consequently, there is no correcting of the cause.

Chiropractic comes from a totally different mindset than Medicine. While Medicine is stuck in its crude, medieval concept of Outside-in, Chiropractic understands that Health... Life... comes from Above-down, Inside-out. Your G-d-given Innate Intelligence runs your body, including your pancreas. When there is interference to this running (through your nervous system) via Vertebral Subluxation Complex (VSC), dis-ease, a lack of proper function occurs. This allows actual disease to develop.

If there is interference to the pancreas, diabetes can occur. If that subluxation is adjusted, then healing can occur. Above-down, Inside-out.

I have had many people begin care with diabetes, and then be able to throw away their medication. I didn't treat the diabetes. I remove interference, and get out of the way.

Nurses' Strike? What About Drs? Asks Marin Chiropractor Dr Harte

A huge news story is being made of the fill-in nurse (because of the nurses' strike) who made a medication mistake, and the patient died. Yes, this is a tragedy, when someone dies from a medical mistake, but THIS IS NOT NEWS.

People die from medical care, some "mistakes" and some "properly administered," every day. Some years ago, at the National Press Club, David Lawrence, M.D., then CEO of Kaiser Permanente, said that Medicine is the third leading cause of death, after heart disease and cancer. He put the death toll, in this country alone, at 400,000 a year. That's 1,096 people a day, which is like three jumbo jets falling out of the sky and killing everyone... every day.

Yet people continue to trust their doctor, their specialist, their tests, their procedures, their drugs, their diagnosis. Why? The really crazy thing is that most fail to look elsewhere, like to real health care (Medicine is, in reality, disease care)... Chiropractic.

Some years ago, there were doctors' strikes in Israel and in France. Guess what happened? THE DEATH RATE WENT DOWN!!!

Time to rethink things?

Dr Harte, Corte Madera Chiropractor, Wonders About the "Walking Foolish"

Whenever I do a health screening, I am amazed how the people who have the most blatant need for Chiropractic (at least in the popularly understood way) look the other way.

I am talking about those who are bent over, difficulty walking, using a cane or a walker, those obviously having a difficult time getting around. Of course there is a portion of these people in which there is a balance issue, directly caused by their prescriptions. Over the years, I have seen many of these people getting more and more bent, lower and lower, more feeble. Yet they will not look my way, let alone check out what Chiropractic has to offer.

These are obvious medical failures. But, it is clear that they would rather be right than to be well. In any other human endeavor, if something or someone doesn't provide success, one looks elsewhere. And you wonder why I call Medicine a cult.

From Marin: Dr Harte's Thoughts on Chiropractic's 116th Birthday

Here in my San Anselmo home, as the 116th birthday of Chiropractic concludes, I have some thoughts that I'd like to share with you.

I am from New York, the 3rd to last state to license/legalize Chiropractic, in 1967. Since I began my studies at new York Chiropractic College only 10 years later, most of my older professors were jailbirds... they had been arrested for "practicing Medicine without a license." I thought of this because I just saw some video of Dr. Reaver, THE most jailed chiropractor in history. Check it out on my facebook page.

So what did this mean, in real life? Well, graduating chiropractors in New York State could not get a business loan, since their profession was illegal. Most kept a "jail bag" in their office containing a toothbrush and an extra pair of underwear in case they were arrested.Sometimes the harassment got so bad that to get into a New York chiropractor's office in the 50's and the early 60's was sometimes like getting into a speakeasy in the 20's.

Often, the case would be that the bigger your mouth, the more often you would be arrested. Such was the case of one of my mentors, the man who developed and taught me my core chiropractic technique, Directional Non-Force Technique (DNFT), Dr. Richard Van Rumpt. Ask me about him. Besides a genius, besides full of love and a boundless passion to serve, he was a real character. Anyway, he got arrested many times. Once, he was walking down Lexington Avenue in NYC and someone said "Good morning, Doctor." He nodded his head in acknowledgement, and was handcuffed on the spot and taken away.

Before you Californians get all smug about these goings on in NYS, let me tell you the California story. Chiropractic was legalized here in California in 1922, not by the legislature, but by an initiative from the people. (Big surprise there, huh?) But, before that legalization, California jailed more chiropractors than anywhere else.

What is all this nonsense, chiropractors getting arrested for "practicing medicine without a license," when Chiropractic is, philosophically, the exact opposite of Medicine? Medicine is Outside-in thinking and practice. Chiropractic is Above-down, Inside-out thinking and practice.

When I hear someone say "I don't believe in Chiropractic," I think "What a fool!" Chiropractic is not something to "believe in" like a religion. It is based upon solid scientific principles that the brain and the nervous system runs the body, and that interferences... subluxations... alter that running, resulting in dis-ease. Correct the subluxation, and the body heals itself. On the other hand, it is Medicine that people "believe in" like a religion... no, more like a cult. Don't get mad. Take a breath, and think about this.

Chiropractic is for everyone with a spine and a nervous system. Whether you have a backache or not is immaterial. You want health? You need to be under lifetime wellness chiropractic care.

In future years, I sincerely hope that this obvious truth becomes obvious to the vast majority of people, especially parents, so that kids get started off right in life. I, and other chiropractors like me, look forward to a day when enough people get this Truth for themselves and their children that, as their genetic potentials unfold, so will that of the human species. We may very well end up with a better world. This is the Big Vision of Chiropractic.

What will YOU do to be part of this? You want change? Change yourself, and lead as many as you can to change, from Above-down, Inside-out.

Dr Harte, Marin Chiropractor, Quotes Sherlock Holmes

"One's ideas must be as broad as nature if they are to interpret nature."  - Sherlock Holmes from "A Study in Scarlet"

Yes, I know the famous detective is a fictional character. But read the words again, and think on them.

Most people's deepest thoughts about so-called health care is whatever is accepted by Medicine currently... the current fads. There is no questioning, really. Oh, there may be doubts, anguish or anger about one particular doctor or another. But almost no one questions the way that Medicine works... its intents... its philosophy. And almost no one questions Medicine's safety. It is time to wake up and think!

Safety? Dr. David Lawrence, former CEO of Kaiser Permanente, said that Medicine was the third leading cause of death, after heart disease and cancer. 400,000 a year.

What is the philosophy of Medicine. It is Outside-in... drugs and surgery. When you really dare to interpret that Philosophy, you must come to the conclusion that their (Medicine's) core belief if that we are born with a deficiency of drugs and an excess of organs.

You wand a broader view of nature? You want something that makes sense. Chiropractic understands that Health comes from Above-down, Inside-out. We correct interference, and get out of the way.

Marin Chiropractor Declares Independence

"To restrict the practice of medicine to one class of men is but a fragment of the monarchy."
- Benjamin Rush, M.D., a signer of the Declaration of Independence

Monday is Independence Day. Let's consider, in this age of moral relativism, what the implications are in Chiropractic to Medicine and to society at large, and to itself.

The trend towards third party control, whether it be insurance companies, managed care outfits like Kaiser, or the government, takes away from liberty. It takes away from your power to decide what type, what level, what doctor, what quantity of health care you want for yourself and your family. I know that more and more people are of a mind that the government always knows best, and automatically, They know better than you do. If you stop and think, this view is out-and-out nuts. The FDA and, to a lesser extent, the CDC are ongoing examples of corruption and incompetence. In reality, the only effective protection we, the medical care-consuming public, have is the work of class action attorneys going after drugs and medical devices that have injured and killed many, many people. How Medicare is run, on a clinical basis, is a disgrace. On a state level, to call the Board of Chiropractic Examiners a disgrace would almost be a compliment. They represent a perversion of Chiropractic, and think that their mission is to protect the public from Chiropractic. Over the years, they have terrorized the profession, dramatically limiting the public's access to good chiropractic care. In other words, government does not help or improve the health care situation. Government has become, in this circumstance, a giant subluxation.

Sadly, more and more people are willing to give up their liberty to third parties. It is time for you, the people, to declare your own independence, to make your own decisions regarding your own health. This also applies to what The Doctor tells you, and what everyone else is doing. The Doctor is not your mother/father/master. You are your own master. History is littered with the corpses of people, INCLUDING MY FATHER, who followed standard medical recommendations. Think for yourself.

Think? Yes, think, instead of following like sheep. Think about the differences between Medicine and Chiropractic. Which one is dangerous (kills between 180,000 to over a million people a year) and which one is safe? Which one maintains you in your sicknesses, and which one allows your body to heal and express it self at higher levels? Which one is based upon the medieval premise that health comes from Outside-in (evil spirits, bacteria, viruses...) and which one understands that health only comes from Above-down, Inside-out? THINK! Be independent.

Probably the worst sort liberty-taking in health care is "mandated vaccinations." Who is the government, and their hack doctors, to tell you that you have to submit your child to serial poisoning, exposing him or her to the possibility of autism, Type I diabetes, irritable bowel, syndrome, ADHD, juvenile arthritis, etc.? BJ Palmer, the Developer of Chiropractic, said, "The school may be public but the child is not." His father, the founder of Chiropractic, DD Palmer, wrote "Compulsory vaccination is an outrage and a gross interference with the liberty of the people in this land of freedom."

Advanced Philosophical Series: The Law of Drugs?

"There is no law of drugs. They come today and go tomorrow. The fad of the hour has its drug of the hour. ALL are one of two kinds:
(a) they stimulate an inhibited condition
(b) they inhibit a stimulated condition

"Beyond this premise, he HOPES to give a possible right drug, for an UNKNOWN quantity of an abnormal condition. The heart beats (a) normally, (b) too fast, (c) too slow, or (d) stops entirely. If too fast a drug paralyzes, inhibiting muscular contractions down to less beats. If too slow, a drug stimulates, whips up muscular pulsations to more beats. If all muscles stop beating, patient dies of 'heart failure.'"

This is from the chapter "Law of Par" in Palmer's Law of Life, 1958, B.J. Palmer, D.C., Ph.C., "The Developer of Chiropractic."

I hope, by reading this, and thinking about this, that you are getting the idea that there is nothing fancy, certainly nothing magical, about drugs, prescribed or not. 1959, 2011? No, for the most part, Medicine has not advanced, except in marketing capabilities.

Drugs DO NOT heal. You cannot get health from drugs, from the Outside-in. Health comes from Above-down, Inside-out.

Potholes, Medicine and Chiropractic

It's Springtime in Marin. That means, when you're driving, watch out for those new, big, ugly potholes. Most are previously repaired potholes, that were never fixed right. Do you see where I'm going yet?

Medicine never really fixes the road. They patch it. Sometimes the patch is a dangerous surgical procedure. Sometimes it's a drug to cover up the hypertension, the diabetes, the gout, the depresssion, the ezcema, the menopausal symptoms, the GERD.... whatever. Do you realize that it... whatever it is that you have, that you are suffering from... is never fixed? It is merely patched, like filling a pothole without fixing the road.

Now when you hit a pothole, when it is big and ugly enough, can lead to other problems... damaged suspension, unbalanced wheels, even serious damage to tires that may lead to a serious accident. What about your "filled-in potholes," your conditions that are sort of controlled/maintained by Medicine? What happens when they open up, and suddenly get bigger? What can happen to you?

Chiropractic is totally different story. We don't fill in your potholes. In other words, we don't treat your diseases or conditions. In fact, we recognize that your "road," your body, is living, and therefore guided by that self-healing, self-correcting, even self-perfecting miracle called Innate Intelligence. We correct interference to that magic, that Innate Intelligence, and the road fixes itself. New cells. New messages. New road.

What makes more sense? What leads to Health? What doesn't?

Hope: Where none existed

I just did a particularly wonderful progressive exam. (In this practice, I actually re-examine people every 12 visits, so that I can monitor, objectively/scientifically, how they are progressing. I know that I've heard people complain about their previous chiropractors, "He just kept adjusting the same thing, over and over. I never got checked after that first time.")

In this allopathic (medical) culture, so many people are told to "learn to live with it." (In some countries, people are told when to die.) This is NOT the limitation of a particular person, nor the limitation of a particular condition or disease. It is the limitation of Medicine.

Yes, I know that the common perception of Medicine is all-knowing, all-seeing, the embodiment of Science and Knowledge. "If They don't have the cure now, it's just around the corner." What a bunch of you-know-what!

With chiropractic care, there are possibilities that do not exist in the "normal" medical world. You can call chiropractors "quacks" if you choose, but why do they succeed where there is no hope elsewhere? Could it be that Chiropractic is in tune with biological law, whereas medicine is not?

What do you think?

Ethics and Chiropractic

I know that many people are mistrusting of chiropractors. Considering many of the cockamamie things that some chiropractors offer, and try to pass off as Chiropractic, this mistrust is understandable.

I was just reading on the nedt about an East Bay chiropractor being investigated for selling to other chiropractors those "disk decompression tables," the one where they claim 86% result for herniated disks. Frankly, I find chiropractors who hawk this kind of gimmick usually lack adequate adjusting skills, and always lack knowledge and understanding of the Principle of Chiropractic, and the proper intent of Chiropractic.

Real... straight... chiropractors, do not treat herniated disks, nor back pain, in general. Nor do we treat any diseases. We don't treat anything. (Diagnosis and treatment is the definition of Medicine. Chiropractic is NOT part of Medicine.) Straight chiropractors correct interference to the expression of health, Vertebral Subluxation, so that your body is free to heal itself. That's it.

Have people come to me, and gotten well, with herniated/slipped/ruptured/degenerated disks? All the time. Have I "cheated the surgeon?" More times than I can count. But not once did I treat the disk problem. I corrected the cause, liek the name of this blog.

Real... straight chiropractors do not need gimmicks like disk decompression tables. We appreciate the fact that the Power that made the body heals the body. Why add gimmicks?
