TV Medical Wars by Corte Madera Chiropractor Dr Harte

Sometimes, watching TV, you hit a "perfect storm" between the actual shows.

What do I mean? One drug after another, along with ads for medical goods, like oxygen sources, diabetes supplies, urinary catheters, etc. Seems like the whole damn world is sick. At least they think that they are.

When you listen to the drug ads, each seems like a miracle drug that will save millions from suffering. (None of them, of course, talk of a cure. That's only for fund-raising.) But, if your TV timing is right, mixed in with the drug ads will be the attorney ads for people who have been injured or killed from drugs. There are ads about damage and death from Actos, a diabetes drug, and Fosamax, for osteoporosis. I've seen really sad ads directed at parents whose kids were born very sick or deformed from anti-depressants taken during pregancy. How stupid are doctors for prescribing powerful drugs to pregnant women when it was not a life-or-death situation! And how trusting these women were. It is very sad.

All of it is sad, bordering on the insane! WHEN WILL PEOPLE GET THE IDEA THAT DRUGS DO NOT CURE. They cover up, and they harm people. You cannot get health from a pill, from Outside-in. Authentic chiropractors understand that health only comes from Above-down, Inside-out. This is not dogma. This is biological common sense.

And G-d bless these attorneys that fight for the medically-damaged and killed. They do the work that the FDA allegedly does.

FEAR, The #1 Weapon of Medicine by Corte Madera chiropractor Dr Harte

FEAR. Many assume that what Medicine uses to advance its case is science and reason. No, the #1 weapon (yes I do mean to use this word as its intent is aggressive) of Medicine is fear.

NOTE: Many people are very sensitive about any criticism of Medicine. I am not besmirching the character of individual medical doctors, most of whom wish to do good for people. I am besmirching the underlying philosophy, the intent of Medicine. Oh, I AM besmirching the character to those on top of the government health agencies and Big Pharma.

This has come to the fore in the current fight against AB2109, proposed California legislation (I call it "Poison the Kids Law") that would, effectively, destroy the personal belief vaccine exemption, causing far more children to get exposed to the dangers of serial vaccination. Far more will get sick and disabled, some permanently, and more will die. And the vaccine lobby, thus empowered, will ramp up its development of many more new sources of chemical terror.

Vaccination is often referred to, by its proponents, as "immunization." It is not. Immunization is a natural process of the immune system reacting to invaders. It is a complex, multifactorial process. Vaccination bypasses normal pathways, creating lesser levels of immunity by perverting normal biological processes.

The fact that vaccination is so accepted by our culture is by no means an indication of its safety or efficacy. It scores low on both these counts. The science behind it is laughable. Vaccination has caused untold suffering. So why does its acceptance still persist?

Why do so many medical myths persist? Why do most people still believe that: it's normal for children to have colds, flus, sore throats, earaches many times a year.... that cholesterol causes heart attack and stroke, that HRT (hormone replacement therapy) is good for menopausal women... that ADHD is actually a disease... that two year olds can be clinically depressed and will be helped with anti-depressants... that an 80 year old should have the blood pressure of a teenager... that perviously innocuous childhood disease like chicken pox are now, all of a sudden, deadly... that loss of bone density in later years is a disease... that health depends upon regular medical testing resulting in lifetime prescriptions of multiple drugs???

The answer is fear. People have been trained to fear disease like they feared demons and evil spirits in medieval times. You think we've advanced in our health thinking?

When I was discussing the vaccine issue with one of my practice members, she feared for her grandchildren. One of the fears? Diphtheria. Where would you even find diphtheria? Yet, it's still in the DPT shots. People so easily forget about the H1N1 pandemic that was going to kill off the world a couple of years ago. And the avain flu epidemic before that. People don't put together facts before their eyes. Here's one... Pretty much everyone over 50 is now on one or more drugs to reduce blood pressure, and drugs to reduce cholesterol, and a large percentage are on blood thinners... all designed to prevent heart attack and stroke. Yet, where is the change? The only changes are new tides of disease and suffering from the side effects of these drugs... sudden death from bleeding from the brain (stroke) or stomach or kidneys, dementia (from too-low blood pressure), diabetes, etc. They'll cite some form of cancer is diminishing, while other forms are getting wildly out of control. They'll scare you into getting various screening tests regularly, then the reports come out that these tests result in no better outcomes, no saving of life. Sometimes these screenings result in poorer outcomes. So they'll scare you with something else.

When I was in my 20's, they tried to scare me into a total lumbar fusion. Fortunately, I was more scared of the surgery, and I was fortunate enough to be referred to a chiropractor.

Most if not all of what they push as "preventive medicine" is based upon fear, and results in far more medical intervention, usually leading to more bad things.

There is the MFF... the Medical Finger of Fear. "If you don't listen to me, The Doctor... " This MFF is based upon the underlying medical philosophy, that "You are born with a deficiency of drugs and an excess of organs."

From newborns (obviously with parents making the decision, except where Big Brother tries to step in) to the elderly, isn't it time to replace fear with reason? Reason? Well, it is basic biological fact that the nervous system runs everything. If there is interference... Vertebral Subluxation Complex, life... health... is diminished. If that interference is corrected, health can be restored. This is what Chiropractic is about. Chiropractic is based upon reason, not fear.

Horrors of psychotropic drugs, by Corte Madera chiropractor Dr Harte

comments from Dr Anne Blake Tracy:

"Besides the school shooting that just happened in Ohio with every earmark of yet another antidepressant induced school shooting, last night a friend called to let me know that her cousin was the teen boy who walked in front of a train in my old neighborhood last week. The grandmother of this boy has now lost two of her grandchildren in a violent suicide induced by antidepressants!!! The first was a teen girl who shot herself about a decade ago. And her son was sent to prison because of false accusations of abuse made by someone on these meds. THAT IS ONE FAMILY!!!!!

Then last week a good friend I have known for 20 years & who has helped set me up for lectures and radio shows to spread the word about antidepressants called to let me know that his 32 year old niece on antidepressants had just committed suicide leaving her husband and three children behind.

Then two weeks ago a friend I have had for 30 years called to let me know that her daughter had given her son-in-law ONE pill of Zoloft after which he made several serious suicide attempts & was now in a psych ward."

Once again, I have to say, you fool with Mother Nature, you pay a price.

Chiropractic is in line with Nature, for it understands that health and healing only comes from Above-down, Inside-out.

Ohio School Shooting & Psych Drugs, Corte Madera chiropractor Dr Harte says

Yesterday, once again, a student went nuts and shot up his school. Several injuries, and the second student died this morning.

Now the idiot media is focusing on their latest 'horror," bullying. (Plenty bullying went on when I was a kid. Funny thing... no one shot up the school.) Will we hear about the real cause?

To my knowledge, every one of the publicized school shootings, including those which were thwarted, involved kids on legally prescribed psychotropic drugs. The two who perpetuated the infamous Columbine Massacre were both on at least two SSRI (Prozac-like) anti-depressants. These drugs now have "black box" warnings about the possibility of violence to others or suicide for young adults and children. Very recently, there was a report of a boy on Prozac shooting his best friend. how many tragedies like this must we see? How many young lives must be cut short? How many families must endure such terrible suffering?

Since Columbine,. we have not seen more caution. we have not seen less psychotropic usage in children; we have seen more. To make matters much worse, it is now common for pediatricians and psychiatrists to add anti-psychotic medication (!) to anti-depressants, sometimes in children as young as five! And then we have all of the ADHD meds... Ritalin, Adderall, Concerta, etc. In my opinion, these quacks should not only have their licenses stripped; they should be put in jail for assault and child abuse.

Can anyone tell me if these doctors prescribing these brain chemical-altering meds for children know exactly what these meds do, on an immediate basis and over the long term of development? This is Russian Roulette with the brains of children, with the same results.

I understand that their are frustrated parents with troubled kids, wondering "But what else can I do?" Well, you can start with getting your child's nervous system right, correcting interference. Time to seek out a straight chiropractor.

Double your Drugs? wonders Corte Madera Chiropractor Dr Harte

Like some people watch sports on TV, I watch the drug ads, looking for the latest frightening trends of the latest fads in Medicine. Oh, I also check out the lawyer ads, looking for clients damaged or killed (in this case, their loved ones) from a particular drug or procedure. Hey, this is the only justice we get. The FDA? As they say in my native New York, FUGETTABOUTIT!!!

It seems a new, very frightening trend is, rather than replace a drug patients are taking with another, they are pushing the idea of adding another for the same symptom or condition. "If Scungilexa is not working as well as you expected, add Toxecia to your regimen. I have seen this for two conditions/circumstances.

For quite some time, the drug pushers (I forgot which one) has had ads out, "If your anti-depressants aren;t quite enough, add Abilify." What they don't tell you is Abilify is NOT and anti-depressant; it is anti-psychotic. As if anti-depressants aren't bad enough, anti-psychotics are considerably more dangerous. Some of their side effects are permanent, including tardive dyskinesia. (Google that one yourself. Frightening!)

The last few days, I have been seeing ads for Intuniv, a drug they say to throw at your ADHD child, who may not be totally perfect on his legal speed (Ritalin, Adderall, etc.) This one works on the frontal lobe. Charming, huh? Oh, and your child may faint.

Can't people see that this means that Big Pharma's much vaunted drugs just don't work? Why ad more junk that won't work, with more side effects?

Is this science, or is it fads? It can't be both. Think on that!

"Ew-ew-ew, but what else can I do? The Doctor said I need (my child needs) these medications." Really? Are you having mental troubles because of a lack of Lexapro or Ambilify? Is your child ADHD because of a deficiency of Ritalin and Intuniv?

Get to the cause. Free your brain and your nervous system, so that your brain and your body can function as it should. get checked. Get adjusted. And tell the people you care about.

Personality Change, Mental Illness and Chiropractic, by Dr Harte, Corte Madera

I love seeing people getting well and staying well under chiropractic care. (This is real... straight chiropractic care, as opposed to the neck and back pain third-rate physical medicine model.)

I truly love seeing personality changes, big and small, as we correct interference to the nervous system, Vertebral Subluxation Complex (VSC). Small? Well, I'm not really talking mental illness here. Some people just never really smile. They're chronically cranky. Others are would tight as a drum. Sometimes I have to tell them that rigor mortis is only allowed after you're dead. Anyway, it still amazes me how these folks loosen up, smile, relax and seem to finally enjoy life. Even those in extreme stress situations begin to handle that stress better, less destructively. This is so nice to see!

Then there are the people come in with real mental disorders, most on serious psychotropic drugs... anti-depressants, anti-anxiety medications, anti-psychotics, and sometimes anti-convulsants. Many have been able to throw their drugs away.

Way back in the 20's, 30's and 40's, there were chiropractic mental hospitals. People came out... functional... in 63% of the cases, vs. 5% out of the medical facilities.

Are you wondering how this works? Well, the mind is in the brain. The brain is contiguous with the cord and the nerves. Any stress from subluxation anywhere in the spine can effect the brain. (The most critical areas are the upper cervical region, the top two vertebrae, and the opposite end, the coccyx, or tailbone. Most chiropractors do not analyze and adjust the coccyx.) So, you get adjusted, removing stress from the nervous system. Doesn't it make perfect sense that people under chiropractic care often see dramatic changes in this realm? And the only side effect is better physical health!

Physician-Cause Alzheimer's, Dr Harte Corte Madera Chiropractor Charges

Alzheimer's. It is reaching epidemic proportions. Why? They say that it's because people are living longer. Well, maybe there's a factor that no one's considering.

Could much of Alzheimer's be iatrogenic... physician-caused? Research has shown that those who get the flu vaccine year after year have a much higher incidence of Alzheimer's. It is believed that accumulations of aluminum from the vaccine is the main culprit here. What about all of the psychotropic drugs... the antidepressants, anti-anxiety, anti-psychotic and anti-convulsant drugs? These all effect the brain. No one really knows the long-term effects. What about blood pressure that is forced too low to conform with arbitrary medical normal values? Not enough blood to the brain, long-term? How about bleeding in the brain caused by Coumadin, Plavix, baby aspirin and other blood-thinners? (If you regularly have bruising on your skin, chances are that the same is happening in the brain.)

Then, there is the total lack of knowledge of Vertebral Subluxation Complex, that takes away from brain and nervous system function. Chiropractors deal with this. M.D.'s do not.

Getting Well with Straight Chiropractic via Dr Harte

The more popular but plainly degenerate form of Chiropractic (VERY common in Marin) mistaken for actual (straight) Chiropractic produces transitory and boring results. Sometimes, people may get temporary relief from back or neck pain, not much better than they can get from Advil. Why? There has been no intention involving THE most serious threat to health, Vertebral Subluxation Complex (VSC). There has been no detection, analysis and correction of VSC. Therefore, there has been no Chiropractic.

When chiropractic adjustments are delivered properly, specifically, for the purpose of correcting VSC, it's a whole different world! Just in the last few days, I've been told that an ankle that has been swollen for the better part of 30 + years is better, years of constipation is far less, and, in the case of a fellow with a degenerative, fatal disease (at least according to the medics), he is not a bit worse in eight months. Over the years, people have been able to throw away all kinds of medication, from beta-blockers (for high blood pressure) to thyroid hormone to diabetes meds to anti-depressants to all manner of anti-inflammatories and pain killers. Besides the underlying need for these drugs vanishing, think of all the damage avoided by all the stopping of all of these drugs.

You want a little, temporary pain relief? You might do OK going to any chiropractor. If you want healing, if you want health, if you want true wellness, you go to a straight chiropractor who, through gentle, scientific chiropractic adjustments, allows your body to express itself more fully.

Michael Jackson's MD on Trial: Thots of Marin Chiropractor Dr Harte

Dr. Conrad Murray is now on trial for involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson.

Michael Jackson died from a mixture of prescribed drugs, including one that is supposed to be used for anesthesia during surgeries. Where did he get this stuff? Wasn't the prescription of this stuff far off the beaten path of what it was supposed to be for, and what is was approved for? This is called "off-label" prescription.

If you think that off-label prescribing is limited to this case, or to crazy celebrity cases in general, think again. It is estimated that off-label represents 60% of all prescriptions. These medical guys can't even follow their own rules, their own protocols.

Then there is the problem of faulty, even phony diagnoses. This is rampant, particularly in the psychiatric field. Diagnosing two year old kids with depression? How do they do this? Diagnosing spirited boys with ADHD? Treating "depressives," where their anti-depressants don't work, with anti-psychotics? How many kids and adults will loss their minds from this, as well as other iatrogenic (physician-caused) disorders? How many will die?

How many REALLY should be on trial?

In the meantime, YOU can make your own judgments. Instead of relying on dangerous drugs to cover up symptoms (Outside-in), rely on your own G-d-given Innate Intelligence to heal you from Above-down, Inside-out. Yes, that's why you get adjusted.

If you aren't getting adjusted, call me NOW. (415)460-6527. Ask me about our fabulous Birthday Sale. You'll save a lot! It ends this Monday, October 3rd. Those of you who are Practice Members, get your friends and family in here. Let's help others to Health.

Marin Chiropractor Dr Harte Attacks Cymbalta

Cymbalta is really being pushed in ads these days.

Two totally different sets of ads. One is for depression. Frankly, after looking up all the side effects, you mat very well get depressed. Higher on the scale than side, or adverse effects is warnings. Read it and weep. Or, find a better way. Hey, this and similar drugs are playing with the chemicals in your brain. Do you really think that this is safe, or sane? Does this get to cause? The whole "biochemical imbalance" thing is a bad joke. Your Innate Intelligence runs the chemistry in your brain, as well as everywhere else and everything else. Why not correct interference to its expression?

The other set is for chronic pain. Cymbalta has been approved for two types of pain, from fibromyalgia and from diabetic neuropathy. Ah, but the ad is targeting everyone with any kind of chronic pain. Typical. Again, why not get to the CAUSE?

While uninformed and/or bigoted people fret over the safety of Chiropractic, if you take Cymbalta, better worry about severe allergic reactions, liver failure, suicide, ad infinitum.

Use your head to free your head, and the rest of you!

Dr Harte, Marin Chiropractor: Treating Pain With Anti-Depressants?

I've written about this before, but They, the Drug Pushers, are relentless in advertising Cymbalta, an anti-depressant, for chronic pain. Is this usage approved by the FDA? Yes. Is this a guarantee of safety. or efficacy? Absolutely not! Does this make any sense at all? No!

Sure, you could get "depressed" from experiencing serious pain over a long period of time. Who wouldn't be upset at hurting all the time? So, this so-called "depression" is not a disease at all; it is a normal reaction to a problem.

Is depression the cause of your pain? Whose even looking? Who even cares? They just want you hooked on this drug, like forever. Though you may feel a little better (probably only initially, after which you'll be prescribed MORE drugs), the case of your pain is unresolved. This is science? No, it is Medicine.

Chiropractic does not treat pain (even back pain), nor anything else, for that matter. We correct interference to your nervous system functioning properly, Vertebral Subluxation Complex (VSC), allowing your body to heal, to properly regulate itself (that is health). We get to CAUSE. We don't do cover-up.

What makes more sense to you?

PS: No matter what The Doctor told you... arthritis, age, whatever, if you get adjusted, and have less interference to your body working properly, your body will work better.

Marin Chiropractor says MD's Don't Follow Their Own Rules

Almost every night, I see the TV ads for Cymbalta, an anti-depressant. Bad enough as an anti-depressant; Cymbalta is now being hawked for chronic pain. Apparently, the Great Protectors of Your Health, the FDA, have approved this previous off-label usage.

Off-label? What does that mean? It is MD's prescribing medication for uses that that particular has not been approved of. Usually, no research has been done in that direction. Yet, it is said that somewhere upwards of 60% of prescriptions are written off-label? These are the medical guys, the high priests of Science. Seems they are incapable of following their own rules and regulations.

This is true, to as to usage, or over-usage, of particular drugs and procedures. I frequently hear about people getting corticosteroid injections into spinal joints, knee, wrists, etc. 5, 6, 7, 8 times. This procedure is supposed to be limited to two, at most three times in a particular joint. Why? Because, though it sometimes gives very good pain relief, it causes serious destruction in joints that are already damaged. This type of thinking, or lack thereof, is typical of Medicine, thinking only for the effect of the minute, disregarding long-term health implications. They just can't follow their own rules.

Now, with Cymbalta, it appears that the regulatory agency, the FDA, is embracing off-label at perhaps its worst. It is bad enough that pain killers and anti-inflammatories just cover up pain, without dealing with cause. (Cause appears to be an unknown concept in the medical world.) Now, they are using a drug that messes with the mind to alter the perception/attitude of chronic pain. This is sick!

When you watch the commercial for Cymbalta, try and catch as many side effects as you can, from the small-time, like dry mouth, to liver damage, sudden muscle rigidity and "thoughts of suicide."

And you still trust these guys? "Ask your doctor if 'thought of suicide' are right for you.'" This stuff is nuts!

Marin's Drug Culture and the Death of Amy Winehouse

One one drug-crazed celebrity dies. This is news because she was a celebrity. People die from drugs every day, except they are regular people. Long-term usage, and short-term mistakes in the hospital.

Marin has a history of the drug culture of the 60's. The journey from recreational, illegal drug use to therapeutic, prescribed drug use is not difficult. Both are based upon a faith in chemicals to get you somewhere. The "somewhere" could be "high" or it could be the diminution or control of a symptom. Drugs are relied upon to do things, and they do. You could see them as magic potions. Either path, recreational or therapeutic, is, in reality, the same path. Besides, a great number of therapeutic drugs are "mind-altering."

There are different speeds to self-destruction. One is rather quick death, or death at an early age, from excess, the speed of Amy. It is odd to note that one of her current hit songs is about "rehab." Well that didn't work. What else is new? Most rehab is an elaborate and grossly expensive charade, substituting legal drugs for illegal drugs. Does the body really know the difference? So, what's the difference? The only rehab program that I ever heard of that actually worked is called "Exodus," in Miami. It is run by Dr. Jay Holder, a chiropractor. Instead of substituting drugs for drugs, he ADJUSTS THEM. Amazing results.

Then there is slow speed drug death. Refer to my last blogpost, about statin drugs, slowly destroying muscles, liver, kidneys, pancreas and even what they are supposed to protect... the heart. There's serial vaccination, bringing about slow destruction of the immune system. Diabetes drugs, that destroy the heart. The drugs for auto-immune diseases frpm psoriasis to lupus to MS, that end up causing cancer.Drugs like Ritalin given to kids with ADHD damage the heart, and do who-knows-what to the developing brain. So many other examples..

Then, there are the psychotropic drugs that slowly destroy the mind. This is especially true when anti-depressants are given to kids as young as two! Frying their poor little brains, they are put on anti-psychotics at five year old. Death of little minds and souls... a tragedy!

This information is out there. Yes, we live in a drug culture, probably worse in Marin than most other places. Yes, you do get to go places with drugs... sometimes all the way to the Marble Orchard.

NOTE TO THOSE WHO ARE NOW WONDERING "WHAT ELSE CAN I DO? I HAVE RECALCITRANT FULMINATING SCUNGELOSIS":What else can you do? You can get in here, get adjusted, and allow your body to heal. There's a good chance that you will "need" less drugs, perhaps none in time. Over the years, I have seen Practice Members throw away drugs for gout, anti-depressants, thyroid hormones, heart medications, diabetes drugs, beta-blockers, pain medications, etc. Remove interference, and all is possible.

Corte Madera Chiropractor Offers Fair Trade Health Care

"Fair Trade"... "Fair Deal"... We are all looking to be treated properly, with respect, and to be able to trust whoever we do business with. In short, we fairness. That's bottom line. Hopefully, on top of that fairness is quality... results... even excellence.

Do you get these things in your health care? Come on, be honest! When you are being examined or treated in your doctor's office or in the hospital, are you seen as YOU, or just a "gall bladder," or a case of diabetes or migraines or depression, ready to be doctored in a cookbook fashion? Don't know what I mean? Well, the gall bladder person goes to the general surgeon, to get that "unnecessary*" organ removed.Diabetic? You get the latest diabetes drug, until that one, too, is pulled off the market. (You might look up Avandia.) You suffer from migraines? No, they won't figure out that YOUR HEAD IS ATTACHED TO YOUR NECK. You will get the seventh or eight drug "to try." (And they call this "science?") You're depressed? You get the next greatly advertised anti-depressant, and if they didn't work, you move on to anti-psychotics. (Yes, Amblify is an anti-psychotic drug.) You are not you in that medical office. You are your diagnosis. And what if your diagnosis is wrong?

Who's paying the bill? If it's the insurance company, Medicare or Kaiser, it is the "bean-counters" who determine what kind of care you get, NOT your doctor. As the old saying goes, "He who pays the piper call the tune."

It is this lack of shoulder-to-shoulder trade that has allowed medical costs to skyrocket beyond all reason. Why? "It's nobody's money," while our whole society is going broke. Take the cost of a hospital bed, one night. $2500,. maybe $3000, for just the bed and the three meals of dog food. No doctor visits, no drugs, no tests, no procedures. Just the bed and the food. YOU WOULDN'T PAY THAT KIND OF MONEY FOR A NIGHT IN A HOSPITAL. Just think what kind of magnificent hotel suite in some exotic location, what fine food, $3000 a night would buy. But "it's nobody's money." Just like when you get the hospital bill, and you're charged for drugs you didn't take. Fair trade? I think not.

Go to a chiropractor "on your list," and what do you get? No exam, no X-ray, no scans, and 3-6 visits, which will not allow change in anyone. You will end up saying "I tried Chiropractic but it didn't work." No, what you got wasn't Chiropractic. It was third-rate physical medicine, doled out by faceless bureaucrats. You didn't get well. Maybe you didn't pay anything, or only $5 a visit. In the end, you got squat. No fair trade here.

In my book, the first item in fair trade, fair business, is clarity! When you come to my office, it is made 1000% clear what Chiropractic is, and is not, how the body really works, the tragedy of Vertebral Subluxation Complex, and what the adjustment does for you. You are examined, nerve scanned, X-rayed and analyzed. Then you are presented with a Report of Findings. You get your INDIVIDUAL findings (I've heard of some chiropractors who do group reports... Is that like group therapy?) You are explained how you got to your current state of lack of health, and what needs to be done to get you on the Path to Health. Laid out for you is your individual schedule, and exactly how much your Initial Intensive Care should cost. Clarity. Fair Trade.

Costs? Everyone is worried about that, especially these days. Instead of the usual, non-committal "let's try a couple visits for a couple of weeks" (guaranteed failure), you get to know the whole story, time and money, up front... second visit...Report of Findings. (EVERYONE has a schedule according to his or her needs.) Fair trade. Then you get two options. (1) You get a nice discount for pre-paying for care, higher for families. Currently, you get extra off. Ask about our "Fire Sale." (2) You pay full price, 12 visits at a time, in advance. Why? This... chiropractic care... is a process, by which years, decades of Vertebral Subluxation Complex, layer upon layer, is unraveled, to allow you greater expression of life. I do not have people pay day by day, because that involves a buying decision, day by day. When that happens, people tend to look upon that day's adjustment as an aspirin. Visits get spread out and peter out. Failure. Paying a little for something that cannot work is not a deal. I am here for the success of your chiropractic care. I do, I agree to and ask you to agree to what works... nothing more, nothing less. Fair trade.

You can't get any clearer than that!

Marin Chiropractor asks: "Drugs for Drugs... or Get Adjusted?"

More and more, we have been seeing ads for the anti-psychotic medication, Abilify, for people with depression to add to their medications if they are still depressed. In other words, the dope that they were given for depression, with all the slick advertising/marketing promises, dosen't work, so let's add something else. The fact that that "something else" is a totally different sort of chemical, and that it was designed and approved for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, well, let's not get too concerned. Perhaps we shouldn't think at all, just open our mouths and take the pills, huh?

Do you realize that they call this "science?' And that many of you consider this science? As I heard one MD on a radio show explain to a caller, "It's really like cooking. You add a little of this and a dash of that."

Have you ever considered trusting your own Innate Intelligence? Get adjusted. Correct interference to the nervous system, allowing the nervous system, including the brain, function better.

Yes, over the years, many people have come here with depression and related disorders, and gotten well. No, I don't treat depression, nor any other kind of mental illness, nor physical illness. I remove Cause, and get out of the way.

From where? From the marketing geniuses/fiends of the PMG (Pharmaceutical-Medical-Governmental) Complex.

A recent article in the Wall Street Journal, "Special Age, Special Doctor," threatens a whole new medical specialty, with its inflated "risks," probably new diagnoses, both physical and mental, and vastly increased pushing of prescription drugs.

The assumptions for teens here? (1) The body is stupid. (2) There are all kinds of terrible threats out there. (3) Medicine has the answer to everything. (4) The more testing, diagnosing, treating, drugging... the healthier??? Or... the sicker???

The new "Adolescent Health" issues?

Acne. Well, Medicine's last big drug for acne, Accutane, ended up causing all kinds of damage, including Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Crohn's Disease. That will make a teen's life better, huh?

Tatoos and piercings: Risk of hepatitis. I guess that they don't really believe that their vaccinations work

Sports Injury: They recommend a back exam. Now that is funny! What does a pediatrician or teen-pediatrician knows about the spine?

Mental Disorders: A great deal of this is caused, or at least exacerbated, by pediatricians who prescribe anti-depressants to children as young as two years old. With their developing brain chemistry so perverted, by the time they are five or six, they are so wacky that they are then diagnosed as "bi-polar," and are given anti-psychotics. Then there's all the ADHD drugs, which are different forms of "speed."

When I was growing up, there were no teen pediatricians, and hardly and regular pediatricians. Amazing that we survived, isn't it?

Use your head, Parents! The more Medicine, including the latest fads*, that your teen gets, the sicker he or she will be.

Use your head. Get their nervous system checked. Like everyone else at every age, they need chiropractic care too.

Health Nazis: Will You Stand up?

"If people let government decide what foods they eat and what medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as are the souls of those who live under tyranny."
"It is error alone which needs the protection of government. The truth stands on its own."
                                                                                              - Thomas Jefferson

Just a couple of weeks ago, the Supreme Court took a huge step towards destroying your health freedom. They effectively shielded vaccine manufacturers from liability, and left the way open for your government, at various levels, to force more and more vaccinations upon us, as adults, and upon our children. Maybe you think that "They" know what's good for you. Maybe you should have the opportunity to decide.

Already, since the 1980's Congress has shielded Big Pharma from vaccine suits, to a great extent. It has only gotten worse now, much worse. This is on top of all the federal and state and local health regulations, with their corrupt agencies like the FDA.

Mass, serial vaccination is causing a horrific health care crisis, which will get worse by magnitudes in coming generations. It is not the universal savior of mankind from the scourge of disease, as is commonly believed.

I have written extensively about the dangers of vaccinations, for both children and adults. I will not go into it here.

As much as I believe in the vitalistic prinicple of Chiropractic, I believe in freedom. If you want to be vaccinated, be my guest. If you don't, Big Brother has no right to force you to vaccinate yourself or your child. And Big Brother, in a nation of laws, has no right to prohibit you from seeking legal redress in case of injury from vaccination.

Could you envision a day when They force you to take anti-depressants, so everyone will be happy? Maybe They will put it in the water.

Chiropractic makes total sense. Remove interference to the nervous system, and the body works better. Simple. But if I were Big Brother, I wouldn't force Chiropractic upon anyone.

"Can Psychiatry be a Science?"

Like the headline? It is the sub-headline of an article from last year in "The New Yorker," called "Head Case." A lot of good insights as to the gross non-specificity, the gross subjectivity, of psychiatry. Speaking of good insights (if you are a Practice Member), when was the last time you took a look at the pile of great magazine articles (of which this is one) and scientific articles in the reception room? How about the stuff on the walls? Where else are you going to find this sort of thing?

Read the article. Some good historical perspective, and some serious questioning of both the pill camp and the talk camp.

Let me simplify. All mental problems take place in the mind, which is in the brain. (Technically, the part of the brain called the limbic system, involved with emotional states, goes beyond the brian, down the cord, to approximately the level of the 6th thoracic vertebra.) The brain... the nervous system... this is what I do as a straight chiropractor.

You having mental problems or challenges? How many people do you know having these sorts of problems, icluding children? How many of these poor folks are taking dangerous anti-depressants, anxioloytics, sedatives, anti-convulsants and/or anti-psychotics, and would like to get off the junk? Get them on the phone to me today.

Do I treat mental illness? No. I seek to correct Cause... Vertebral Subluxation, allowing body and mind to heal.

Psychotropic Drug Devastation: Legal, Illegal

A couple of weeks ago, I spent some time with an acquaintance of mine, who really needed some time. He was losing his mind, and knew it.

Way back in the late 60's, he did way too much LSD. (And some, especially in Marin, still think Timothy Leary was a genius. No. He was, however, fairly successful in bringing about the realization of one of his battle cries: "Bring it all down, Man." And so it has come down.)

So, he was always a little "off," and very prone to depression. This time, he was deeper in the pit than I had ever seen him. Yes, he was under the care of both a psychologist and a psychiatrist. Yes, he had a variety of prescriptions, from anti-depressants to anti-anxiety agents to anti-psychotics.

He was cogent enough to articulate that the (legal, prescribed) drugs he was taking were destroying his mind, but that he needed more and more powerful drugs just to get by. For the first time, I saw him exhibiting a condition known as akithesia, episodes of involuntary muscle jerks, brought about by the anti-psychotics.

Some think that illegal psychotropic (mind-altering) drugs are cool, and safe. Many think that legally prescribed psychotropic drugs are safe and effective. If you met this man, and say his pain, you would realize that both illegal and legal psychotropic drugs are dangerous to the individual, and a blight upon society.

That includes the "pushers," legal as well as illegal.

"What else can I do???"  The mind is within the brain. The brain is part of the nervous system, a system that is basically contiguous. Affect the nervous system with interference to its proper functioning, vertebral subluxation, anywhere in the spine, and you affect the brain. This holds, in the spine, as far away as the coccyx, the tailbone. Subluxation there directly impacts the meninges, the "bag" that holds the cerebro-spinal fluid.

Mental/emotional challenges? Begin with correcting Vertebral Subluxation, allowing your nervous system, INCLUDING YOUR BRAIN, to function better. Get straight chiropractic care now.

Chiropractic vs. Insane Medical Cultist

The beginning of November, the Pacific Sun did a cover story on teen suicide. With typical allopathic (medical) wacked-out thinking, the article was touting the use of anti-depressants, while they are known to INCREASE suicide rates in teens and young adults. In the Physicians' Desk Reference, there is a "Black Box" warning to this effect. The black box is the most serious warning, beyond which a drug would be pulled from the market.

So, I wrote a letter to the editor. (See previous blog post.) Then, the following appeared in this week's Sun:
"ARE YOU SUBLUXED TO THE CHALLENGE?

Once again, Don Harte pushes his aggressive [me?] chiropractic attitude; this time about depression. Once again, another foolish practititoner believing in magic.

While I actually agree with Harte about some of the issues surrounding teen depression, he states he has "100 percent authority." Chiropractors trained in neurochemistry? Now that's funny.

This is just another of Harte's ficticious beliefs that chiropractic can solve any problem. Harte, face it, "chiropractic subluxation" [huh?] was a revelatory concept completely devoid of reality. This fundamental precept of chiropractic cannot be demonstrated by X-ray or autopsy - a fact admitted by chiropractic schools. Now Harte wants us to believe that these practitioners have the knowledge to deal with depression?

By the way, Harte, you malligned my credentials the last time you raised your hackles about my letters to the editor. I have a Ph.D. in neurophysiology from UC Davis and I teach human physiology at both the College of Marin and Dominican University. Your pseudo "doctor" title does not give you carte blanche to talk about every aspect of the nervouis system. Chiropractic is a neuromuscular scam that has no ability to diagnose and relies on the patient telling the practitioner where the pain lies. Here's a challenge for you, Harte. I'll send you patients. You will know that they are from me.Some will have pathology, some won't. The Pacific Sun can monitor the experiment. Up for the challenge, chiropractor? I doubt it."

OK... I hereby declare this "Be Kind to Unbalanced Academics Week." So, I sent this response off to the Pacific Sun today:

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

12/3/10

Amazing... I write a letter to the editor in response to the Sun’s cover story on teen suicide, bringing out the well-established fact that the very anti-depressants used to treat depression are known to increase suicide in teenagers and young adults, in the hope that that knowledge may save a young life or two. Instead of simple agreement or disagreement, or some semblance of scientific/academic discourse, I am met by a crude, baseless tirade, attacking not only myself, but my entire profession. Racist-like hate is the tool of Dr. Waldman, while his goal is mindless defense of the status quo of the Pharmaceutical-Medical-Governmental Complex..

Dr. Waldman dares call Chiropractic a “neuromuscular scam.” Really? How about medical professionals, all very respectable, in their white coats, making psychiatric diagnoses with the vaguest of parameters, prescribing medications that cause the death of children? What kind of scam is that? What about the credibility of the research, and the approval process, and the very thin level of understanding of neurochemistry, upon which these dangerous psychotropic drugs are based?

So, a neurophysiology professor from a community college attacks me in the realm of real-life clinical applications? That is truly funny. Yes, Dr. Waldman, chiropractors do study neurochemistry, as well as neurophysiology and neuroanatomy. It is pathetic when a man of some education is so bereft of wisdom. It is one thing to know facts. It is quite another to have the wisdom to put them into practical context. It is yet a higher step to put those facts, and that wisdom, into a system that actually improves the lives of one’s fellow human beings. This is what Chiropractic has done. This is what at least parts of Medicine, particularly pediatrics and psychiatry, have failed at.

As to Dr. Waldman’s “challenge,” it merely underlines his total lack of understanding of Chiropractic, and his gross arrogance that Medicine is the only system to be considered. Chiropractors do not diagnose, nor do we treat disease. You want to send me patients to diagnose? (Why do you have patients, since you are not a medical doctor?) That would be like me sending you people to adjust.

Chiropractic cannot be understood, or judged, within the paradigm of Medicine. It is different. Yes, we take the same basic sciences in school. Of course, the clinical courses are different. Most importantly, the INTENT of Chiropractic is fundamentally different from that of Medicine.

So, Dr. Walman, you want a challenge? How about a public debate? Perhaps the Pacific Sun would like to sponsor that. You feel lucky today? Well, do ya, professor?

PS: Dr. Waldman took my “100% authority” quote totally out of context. Here it is, in context: “I can say with 100% authority that it is infinitely safer to entrust your child’s health to a straight chiropractor, to keep that nervous system without interference, functioning at a higher, healthier level.” Only the most deranged medical cultist would attempt to argue with that.

PPS: I admit it. I am “aggressive” with the truth.
